1liI ROYAL Marine Commandos overran a Taleban stronghold, killed a terrorist leader and numerous supporters, seized a weapons cache and drove the rebels out of a town in the heaviest month of fighting with insurgents in southern
Afghanistan. The new year began with 3 Commando Brigade and 800 Naval Air Squadron on the offensive in the troubled province of Helmand as British forces put the Talcban on the back foot.
