message from the club Welcome to the 2024 - 25 Winter Program! A new winter season is upon us! We have so much in store for you and your families up on the hill. From learn-toskate programs and lessons for all ages to our teams and adult leagues, there is something for everyone.

Winter participants can enjoy the Club from Friday, November 1, through Sunday, March 30. The calendar is full of events to keep you active and involved all winter long. Check out the Club website, app, and Instagram for all the latest details.

GROUP INSTRUCTION FOR SKATERS Must be in Pre-K or higher Take your figure skating to the next level with our Navesink Figure Skating Academy. Our group lessons are designed to teach figure skating skills in a fast-paced group setting.

The program follows the Learn to Skate USA curriculum. Classes are divided by age groups and skill level. All skaters are encouraged to utilize the Figure Skating Freestyle sessions to practice the skills they learn during their scheduled classes. Our coaching team provides a group training experience that will encourage maximum effort and growth from each skater through a supportive, energetic, and motivational setting.

private lessons Private lessons are encouraged for all skaters, regardless of age or skill level.

Coach Jenn and Coach Mari have backgrounds coaching basic skills, high level figure skating skills, hockey power and edge work, parent/tot, and beyond. If you’re new to the ice, we would love to help encourage and support you into a safe and fun skating season!

Private Lessons include: Customized instruction to help you towards your skating goals.

Choreography for any skaters wanting to perform in monthly exhibitions.

Photos and videos of skaters progress.

FIGURE SKATING Junior Coaching Gain both on- and off-ice guidance on how to structure skating classes, along with hands-on experience teaching and working with children. Junior coaching is ideal for our mature skaters who want to build strong connections with younger skaters. As a junior coach, you’ll learn the fundamentals of leading a fun, safe, and organized basic skills class. Ages 12+ Program Includes: Community service hours Recognition at end of season show Real life experience teaching and working with kids.

Build your resume! There are many opportunities to teach skating no matter where your future takes you!

Aspire program Aspire is recognized by US Figure Skating as a group training program where skaters can learn proper skill development and training techniques while sampling different skating opportunities and fine tuning their skating skills. Skaters will participate in monthly skating exhibitions and season-end show.

Program Includes: Matching team jacket 60 minute on-ice instruction per week 30 minute off-ice instruction per week US Figure Skating Aspire Membership Automatic season-end ice show participation Exhibition group number participation Off-site/ travel performance opportunities Parent education opportunities Guided goal setting Expectations: Skaters are expected to wear their team jacket, black pants, and hair up at every session.

Skaters should utilize at least one freestyle session a week for independent practice.

FIGURE SKATING

tuesday drop-ins Drop-in lesson times will be available for skaters who would like more guided ice time. Coach Jenn and Coach Mari will help your skater through their unique goals while working in a small group training environment. This is a great opportunity for your skater to prepare for exhibitions throughout the season!

Program Includes: Additional privatized and small group instruction with Coach Jenn and Coach Mari Choreography for individual or small group exhibition numbers Focus on skating skills, jumps, spins, choreography and expression

pop-up events Pop-up events are designed to maximize our ice time early and late in the skating season. Each event will be customized to ensure we make the most out of our outdoor skating season.

Program Includes: Themed skating activities to include; games, challenges, choreography, and more!

programs & clinic information • Navesink has an active platform tennis community with five women’s teams in the NJ Women’s Platform Tennis League and two in the Ladies Shore League. The Ladies State League runs from October 22 to February 25, while the Ladies Shore League spans from October 10 to March 13. These leagues not only offer competitive matches but also build camaraderie among players.

• Navesink fields four teams in the NJ Men’s Platform Tennis League and three in the Men’s Shore League.

The Men’s State League begins on October 7 and runs through December 17, followed by the Men’s Shore League from mid-January to mid-March. Regular practices and match days provide opportunities for competition and connection within the community.
