TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
The tournament will consist of twelve flights comprised of six two-man teams. The flights have been seeded by combining the handicap indexes of the member and the guest. Each team will play five nine-hole matches with a maximum per round, of three points up or down for the first three matches and a maximum of five points for the last two matches. One point will be awarded for winning a hole, a minus point for losing a hole, and no points for having a hole.
Each match is Better Ball Twosome (member and guest) at 90% difference off the low handicap with strokes to be taken as they fall on the scorecard. Half strokes will be used.
All teams must be ready to start on time. If one team is late, they will automatically lose each hole played by their opponents until they have caught up. If one team member is late, the other will begin play without him. If both teams are late, the match will be forfeited and no points will be awarded. If one team fails to show, the other team will be awarded three points.
In case a flight is short a team, the team that is missing will be assigned nine pars for each match. Each opponent when playing the missing team will play Net Better Ball Match Play vs. Par.
If two or more teams in a flight are tied for first or runner-up, at the conclusion of scheduled play on Saturday, the tie will be settled as follows:
• The winner will be the team having beaten the other team in Round-Robin play.
• The winner will be based on a match of cards starting with the first hole that they started their match.
• The winner will be based on each teams’ match result versus the highest placed team not in tie.
At the conclusion of play on Saturday, all the Flight Champions including the winners of the Bushwood Flight will meet to decide an overall Championship Team in an elimination Shoot-out using alternate shot format.
All flight winners must report to the 18th fairway by 4:00 pm on Saturday. Tee-off position will be by flight number from one to twelve followed by the Bushwood Flight winners.
Members’ and guests’ handicaps have been frozen as of June 9, 2023.
USGA match play rules apply except as may be modified by local rules.
Scorecards for each match will be issued on the 1st and 10th tee prior to the start of play on Friday and Saturday. Please hand in your scorecard to the tent scoreboard after each match as scores will be submitted for handicap purposes.
Scheduled starting times must be followed. Slow play disrupts the schedule and is inconsiderate of others. Pick up when you are out of the hole. Course rangers will be present to assist your pace of play.
The Tournament Committee will have final authority regarding play.
The 1st Flight will play from the Blue Tees.
Flights 2-12 will play from the tees that your handicap is based on (white, gold, or white/gold combo).
