MINI CAMPS

A variety of mini camps may be offered at select centers. These unique camps highlight specific interests (i.e., basketball, cooking, engineering) and are scheduled either during the morning or afternoon. These are great for families who are not seeking child-care but just looking for some fun activities and skills to learn.

We comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act in making reasonable accommodations when possible. Participants requesting special accommodations need to complete a Special Accommodations Request Form. To make a request, contact the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office at 817-459-5474 or email parksdepartment@arlingtontx.gov. We will make every effort to accommodate special needs requests.

REFUND POLICY

A customer must withdraw from a program or camp three days prior to the start of the first class to be eligible for a refund or credit.

Fees for classes, programs, or camps which are canceled by the Arlington Parks & Recreation Department are fully refundable. FITNESS PACKAGES

Arlington Parks & Recreation offers a variety of monthly membership packages that allow residents and visitors to enjoy programs and amenities at all recreation, athletics and 50+ centers across The American Dream City.

Monthly membership programs allow Arlington residents to participate in a wide range of Parks & Recreation’s programs at any center without paying additional fees as they would have under the previous membership program.

Monthly memberships can be purchased for individuals or for a family of up to five people. Individual membership rates are based on the age of the participant and are discounted for adult residents over the age of 60. Family memberships for anyone living under the same roof up to five people. Additional family members would need to purchase individual membership packages based on age. Non-residents are also eligible to buy a Parks & Recreation monthly membership at a slightly higher cost than residents.

Patrons can choose among three levels of membership, based on their needs and interests. For example, someone looking to swim laps at The East’s 113,000-gallon indoor pool or to take advantage of the skating at Elzie Odom Athletic Center may find the basic Blue membership to be the best fit for their fitness needs. A Green membership opens up access to weight room and cardio equipment at all centers. And the Gold membership provides patrons with discounts on select programs as well as the highest level of access to amenities and programs at all centers, including in-person and virtual fitness classes, instructor-led fitness classes, and on-site childcare for up to four children during visits at no extra cost.

Not ready to commit to a monthly membership? Arlington Parks & Recreation offers a day pass for $8, which provides an individual with Gold membership access to any center. Patrons must be 15 years or older to purchase an individual membership or day pass.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS

Arlington Parks and Recreation is committed to creating parks, facilities, and green spaces for you and your family to enjoy.

With park fees, bonds, and other sources of income, we’re able to renovate and create facilities to fit your needs.

Arlington residents unanimously approved a package of bond projects that focus on streets, parks, fire facilities and libraries in the 2018 Bond Election.

Take a minute to read about projects we’ve recently completed or that are already under way.

*Please note that many of the elements shown for these projects are renderings and conceptual in nature.

RICHARD SIMPSON PARK PHASE II

Richard Simpson Park is 9-acre City Park on the shoreline of Lake Arlington. It is one of only two Arlington parks that provide public access to the Lake Arlington for recreation usage. The 2008 bond election included replacement of the lake house facility. The Phase-I development, that included design and construction of the new Kathryn Wilemon Lake House Event Center, was completed in 2019. The 2018 Bond Program included improvements for Phase-II development.

The Phase-II improvements provide site amenities such as a new parking area, driveway access around the Lake House connecting the boat ramp with the parking lot, nature-themed playground, pavilions, walking trails, exercise stations, picnic stations, an outdoor plaza space, landscaping and irrigation, along with the installation of a new dedicated covered fishing pier and gangway.

The project is currently under construction and is anticipated to be completed in summer 2025.

ACTIV & CENTENNIAL PARK TO OPEN SPRING 2025

Scheduled for a grand opening in March 2025, ACTIV, located within Centennial Park, is a state-of-the-art recreation center dedicated to enriching the lives of adults aged 50 and older. Offering an array of amenities including a full-court gymnasium, an indoor pool, a fitness area, a walking track, multi-purpose rooms, special events space, full-sized industrial kitchen, and an outdoor patio space for special events.

Centennial Park surrounds ACTIV and includes a loop walking trail, benches, six (6) pickleball courts, and a community garden.

ACTIV is committed to providing a welcoming and vibrant environment for both residents and non-residents aged 50 and older for decades to come.

TEXAS RANGERS GOLF CLUB

817-275-5941

701 Brown Blvd.

fb.com/RangersGolfClub

Arlington Golf and the Texas Rangers have partnered to build the world’s only Major League Baseball-branded golf course — the Texas Rangers Golf Club — which opened in February 2019. This collaborative branding partnership, along with $24 million in course renovations, affords the opportunity for Arlington to offer a destination golf course for both Arlington residents and visitors alike.

“As the world’s only MLB-themed golf course, this course is sure to be a ‘bucket list’ item for baseball fans across the globe, especially our Rangers fan right here in Arlington,” Mayor Jeff Williams said.

The golf club is open to the public seven days a week. Texas Rangers Golf Club is the closest 18-hole golf course to Arlington’s Entertainment District, offering a chance to play golf in conjunction with a visit to a Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers Game, TexasLive!, or the numerous other events at AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, UTA or downtown Arlington.

A $24 million project, Texas Rangers Golf Club involved a total renovation and updated routing of the existing golf course with improved turf grasses and additional water features. A new 33,871-square-foot clubhouse, which opened in early 2020, features a full-service restaurant and bar, covered patio overlooking the golf course, pro shop, locker rooms, and numerous rental and event spaces.

TIERRA VERDE GOLF CLUB

7005 Golf Club Dr. 817-478-8500

fb.com/TierraVerde

Newly renovated, it’s hard to find a more beautiful course than the award-winning Tierra Verde Golf Club, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in late 2023. Tierra Verde is the first golf course in Texas, and the first municipal course in the world, to be certified as an Audubon Signature Sanctuary. Walk onto the first tee and enter an environment where golf and nature come together in harmony.

Opened in 1998 and carved from 250 acres of secluded terrain, the course’s unsurpassed layout encompasses a variety of natural settings and offers an outstanding playing experience on every hole. The course has hosted many prestigious events, including the Byron Nelson Qualifying Tournament. Tierra Verde has consistently been named one of the top-10 public golf courses in the Metroplex by AvidGolfer magazine, earning cover honors in 2023.

Each hole has five sets of tees, sculpted fairways, strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards - all accented by stately trees and beautiful native grasses. The facility features a indoor golf training bay, lighted driving range, three-hole practice course and large chipping and putting green complex.

Lessons and clinics are taught by PGA/LPGA professionals and apprentices, an outdoor pavilion and full-service restaurant, Ventana Grille, that complement every event from small corporate outings to large fundraising tournaments.

VENTANA GRILLE AT TIERRA VERDE GOLF CLUB

Trade the typical parking lot views of other restaurants for Ventana Grille and the sights and sounds of Tierra Verde Golf Club — the first Audubon Signature Sanctuary golf course in Texas — where golf, dining and nature come together.

Chef Ky Nguyen invites you to come enjoy his culinary creations!

Open to the public daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offering a takeout menu, Ventana Grille’s affordable options makes it the perfect place for your next meal.

Ideally located less than three miles from I-20 off US 287, Ventana Grille is an excellent place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a couple of drinks after your round of golf. It’s also a great quick casual lunch spot for you and your co-workers, and the ideal setting to celebrate your next special event.

The kitchen is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9 PM and features Avid Golfer’s ‘Best Breakfast Burrito’ and daily lunch specials under $15.

Catering, wedding receptions, private parties, to-go orders and special requests are welcome! MEADOWBROOK PARK GOLF COURSE

817-275-0221

1300 E. Dugan St.

fb.com/MeadowbrookParkGolfCourse

Arlington’s tradition of outstanding golf began in the 1920’s with Meadowbrook Park Golf Course. Conveniently located just east of downtown Arlington, the golf course provides an excellent choice for families and leagues.

The golf course is the centerpiece of Arlington’s first city park. Arlington purchased the 52-acre site in 1923 and it was sponsored by the Arlington Rotary Club.

The site includes picnic grounds and the tree-filled, nine-hole golf course. Many of the holes feature vistas of nearby AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Meadowbrook Park is the perfect facility to learn golf and sharpen short-game skills. The 9-Hole, par-33 layout consists of six par 4s, 250 to 300 yards in length, and three par 3s, approximately 150 yards in length.

The course can be easily walked or played under time constraints and has a long-standing commitment to beginning adult and junior golfers. Golf legends Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson once led golf clinics here.

Its small greens and narrow fairways are designed to challenge every level of player.

The clubhouse offers a full line pro shop, concessions, and golf cart rentals. Exclusive facility rental opportunities are available for both golf and non-golf outdoor activities.

With a long-standing commitment to environmental enhancement and preservation, Meadowbrook Park Golf Course is like a walk in the park for the whole family!
