Write From the Heart for Fun

Write from the Heart is offering a women’s introductory workshop, Writing Without Fear, online via Zoom from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning February 27 through March 27. Owner and teacher Melissa Greene has taught students of all ages to love writing since 2001. She specializes teaching in a light and easy manner, easing writers’ inhibitions through the art of play. Greene says, “There is nothing in the world like humor to unleash our imaginations. A little silliness and laughter go a long way to opening us up to our true creative selves.”

Participants will learn new ways to look at their creativity: how to relax and remain present, the beauty of everyday detail and how to overcome perfectionism by warming up to writing, slowly and naturally, without stress. There are no grades, tests, pressure or anxiety. Sharing is optional and beginners are welcome.

Along with group and private workshops for women and teens, Greene teaches expressive writing support for cancer patients at several local facilities.

New Location for Dr. Super

Dr. Super’s House of Health has moved to a larger office at 2209 Quarry Drive, Suite B21, in West Lawn. Dr. Tabetha Super states, “Our business is unique in our commitment to equity. We offer sliding-scale services to Medicare, Medicaid and veterans to help make our services more accessible and affordable to underserved populations.” They are also starting a chronic pain support group that meets once a month, as well as new services such as reflexology and reiki. Fundraising events and free care days are scheduled throughout the year.

“Our chiropractic care focuses on a body/mind approach, which extends beyond neck and back pain,” she advises. Super uses cranial and myofascial techniques to improve gut health, sleep quality, stress and other autonomic dysfunction in the body. She notes, “Many people assume chiropractors only treat joints, but we want to spread the word about how chiropractic can care for your entire body!”
