The biennial National Musical Theatre Competition (NMTC) is a premier event for the emerging professional musical theatre soloist. Past competitors and winners have developed industry connections that led to their success on Broadway and other venues. The top 24 national semifinalists compete at the 2024 NMTC semifinal and final rounds in New York City, due to the proximity of music industry’s top professionals in musical theatre. The 2024 Florence Birdwell Prize winner (first place) will receive more than $10,000 in prizes in addition to a concert at the 58th NATS National Conference in Knoxville, June 28-July 2, 2024, and a $1,000 gift certificate from Hal Leonard. The Linda J. Snyder second prize will be awarded $2,500 plus a $500 gift certificate from Hal Leonard. The third and fourth prizes include the Louise Lerch Prize ($1,000) and the Bill Hayes Prize ($750), respectively. Learn more at nats.org.
