Natia Zantaraia Bachelor of Architecture

About me

During my time as an architecture student, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating on a range of architectural endeavors. This involved close collaboration with highly experienced architecture experts in Georgia, and it has allowed me to amass a diverse set of skills pertinent to the field. These skills encompass design fundamentals, proficiency in various design software, the cultivation of critical thinking abilities, and the formulation of innovative design concepts.

Work Experience

Chiatura exhibition - It included the study of Chiatura, which ultimately resulted in the creation of individual projects. Working as a team, we conducted a comprehensive survey of significant landmarks in Chiatura. We also created a model that not only portrays the distinctive landscape of Chiatura but also illustrates the interconnectedness of cable cars and the factories that contribute to the city’s uniqueness.

Since the building is completely adapted to the terrain of Chiaturi, its shape is directly determined by the specifics of the terrain. The lower the level, the smaller the floor area. On the last floor of the museum, the rock itself plays the role of the walls of the building. With each step, the visitor of the museum feels going inside the rock, which is facilitated by both the creation of a gradual narrowness and the lighting that follows the depth of the relief.

Social Housing

The central concept of this social settlement centers on the integration of diverse housing arrangements. While these residential facilities vary in terms of privacy and space, they are all interconnected by a central traffic bridge. This bridge not only serves as a pathway but also fosters social interactions, creating a communal space for all, where people can not only dine but also engage in various social activities.

Stealing Beauty Our surroundings are evolving rapidly, often without us noticing how the view outside our private window is changing. What used to be a panoramic view of Tbilisi has now been replaced by the facade of a newly constructed neighboring building. This has become such a common occurrence that it has sparked a competitive struggle among development companies to secure coveted views that are already in someone else’s possession.

When did architecture turn into a battleground? Cities have historically mirrored a nation’s political and economic landscape, as well as the collective mindset of its inhabitants. Previously, buildings were erected to provide shelter and foster urban development. However, today, each new construction project seems intrinsically tied to the financial gains of the developer. This shift is causing the city to gradually lose its traditional aesthetic, with even the major thoroughfares of Tbilisi taking on a disorderly and unattractive look.

Archive of memories In the future, we may encounter a scenario where the archives become the sole repository through which we can revisit the views of our past, allowing us to search for and recapture our memories.
