Primers are used to help create a better adhesion of a thinset, mud bed or self leveling component to the substrate for tiling. This helps increase bond strength and water resistance in tiling and reduce risk of chemical reaction with cement based adhesives.

Mapei Primer G

• Synthetic resin based primer in water dispersion

• Use for priming substrate surfaces prior to installing ceramic tiles and stone material with cementitious adhesives or leveling

• The surfaces to be treated must be clean and porous

• Dilute and use 1 part Primer G with water from 3 parts water

• Prime old floors before leveling to fix the residual dusting and to provide an even absorption of substrates prior to leveling or laying

• Apply to hydrate surfaces and increase bond strength

Mapeprim SP

• 4kg Unit, two part solvent free primer

• Mapeprim SP improves the bonding of smoothing and leveling compounds such as Ultraplan on very smooth and compact substrates such as ceramic tiles, natural stone and wood

• Apply the leveling compounds while Mapeprim SP is still “indentable” and before it has completely hardened

• Use Mapeprim SP on dry substrates and not subject to rising damp

Mapei Eco Prim T Plus

Universal acrylic primer for all absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.

• Universal primer and adhesive promotor

• May be diluted up to 1:4 with water according to area of use

• Easy to apply with a brush or roller

• Suitable for use on epoxy or polyurethane waterproofing primers

• Insulator between gypsum and concrete

Mapei Eco Prim Grip Plus

• A multi-purpose, ready-to-use primer for internal and external surfaces to improve the bonding of tile to all types of concrete and rendered surfaces

• This includes tile over tile, natural stone or exterior grade plywood before applying polymer modified adhesive to install tile

• Grey Color

• Fast-drying, water based acrylic primer

• For porous and non-porous substrates, such as existing tiles, vinyl and carpet, and vinyl adhesive residue
