eSessions Are Available As a member of the National Live Scan Association®, you'll have access to our exclusive eSessions – short, online meetings designed to provide you with the support and guidance you need to succeed in the fingerprinting industry.

These sessions are held via webinar or conference call and are available in both private and group formats. Private sessions typically last 25 minutes, while group sessions last 40 minutes (unless otherwise noted).

Recurrency Program

To be eligible for the National Live Scan Association® (NLSA) certification, applicants must complete the required training program and meet all specified prerequisites. These prerequisites may include educational qualifications, relevant work experience, or other criteria determined by NLSA.

The certification program consists of comprehensive training designed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills in the fingerprinting industry. Participants will undergo in- depth learning and practical exercises to ensure their expertise and proficiency in the field.

Upon completing the training program, applicants must pass a certification examination. The examination assesses their understanding of key concepts, procedures, and best practices related to fingerprinting. Successful completion of the exam is essential for certification.

NLSA's certification comes with a recurrency program that requires active members to participate regularly to maintain their certification. Continuous membership and active participation in the recurrency program are necessary to ensure the automatic renewal of certification at the end of the designated period.

Federal & State California Residents Requirements CA Department of Justice (CA-DOJ) requires a Live Scan for ALL Fingerprint Rolling Certification Program applicants, including Ink Card Fingerprinting. The National Live Scan Association makes it easy and convenient for you by having fingerprint certification services available at most of the workshops. The government service fee is $74 (this includes state-required FBI Screening and DOJ Certification Fee), also there will be a service (rolling) fee from the place that will fingerprint you.
