Cruise through Bái Tu Long Bay, a more secluded section of this stunning World Heritage site, and explore the Me Cung cave. Return to Hanoi, and take a cyclo tour of the vibrant old quarter.

DAYS 1–2 I BANGKOK, THAILAND

Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer is included. The following day, explore lively Bangkok, visiting the Grand Palace and the Wat Phra Kaew temple with its sacred Emerald Buddha. Later, catch a flight to Chiang Mai.

DAYS 3–4 I CHIANG MAI

Visit a market with a local chef to pick out ingredients for your Thai cooking class, and enjoy your creations for lunch. Discuss the tenets of Buddhism with a young monk, and listen to a hypnotic chanting ceremony at the Doi Suthep temple. Explore Chiang Mai at leisure, and venture outside of the city for an authentic khantoke dinner with a local family.

DAYS 5–7 I LUANG PRABANG, LAOS

Fly to the stunning city of Luang Prabang, and take an orientation walk. Rise at dawn to witness the daily almsgiving ritual to Buddhist monks; then visit the National Museum—

Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and explore the city by cyclo; then discover the famed Cu Chi tunnels with a local guide.

DAYS 13–14 I PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA

Fly to Phnom Penh, and take in the city’s highlights on a cyclo tour. Explore the dark side of Cambodia’s history at Choeung Ek memorial and the notorious Tuol Sleng prison.

DAYS 15–18 I SIEM REAP

Drive to Siem Reap. Spend two days exploring the mystical ruins of Angkor with a local guide, and enjoy a Khmer lunch at a G Adventures–supported restaurant. Take in a performance at Phare, a Cambodian circus and social enterprise, and opt to visit the floating villages of Tonlé Sap lake. Depart at any time on our final day.

DAYS 2–3 I KO SAMUI

Fly to tropical Ko Samui, and take a traditional longtail boat to pristine Ko Mat Sum and Ko Taen. Kayak past cliffs and lagoons, or go snorkeling.

DAYS 4–5 I KO SAMUI/KHAO SOK NATIONAL PARK

Choose to hike into the jungle amid monkeys and tropical birds, soak in steaming hot springs, canoe down the sparkling Sok River, or bicycle winding trails.

DAYS 6–8 I KRABI/BANGKOK

Cross the Krabi River by longtail boat, gliding past mangrove forests and limestone peaks. View the Khao Khanap Nam cave’s prehistoric paintings and rock formations. Encounter the traditions of Ko Klang island by motorized tuk-tuk. Enjoy a free day, with options to take a tuk-tuk to scenic Ao Nang beach, go kayaking or snorkeling, or venture to the idyllic Ko Phi Phi islands by speedboat. Return to Bangkok on our final morning.

In medieval Ayutthaya, sample Thai dishes on a 1930s rice barge, and stroll past the palaces and monasteries of this former imperial capital.

DAYS 4–6 I CHIANG MAI

Fly to Chiang Mai, and dine khantoke style in the country. Shop for ingredients at the morning markets with a chef; then prepare lunch together. Visit historic temples, and discuss Buddhism with a monk. Enjoy a free day in Chiang Mai with options to explore by tuk-tuk, bicycle, or on foot; then experience a vibrant night market.

DAYS 7–8 I BANGKOK

Fly to Bangkok, and take to its winding canals on a khlong boat. Visit the impressive temple of Wat Pho, and marvel at the glittering Reclining Buddha statue. Depart any time the next day.
