PROJECT BRIEF Fernwood fitness is a premium womens only gym, with group fitness classes, personal trainers and other health services to help achieve goals. With a surge of new members, Fernwood Fitness in Craigieburn wanted to renovate areas to the highest standards to ensure optimum performance in conjunction with gym equipment. The flooring choice needed to withstand the daily rigor of heavy equipment, while providing an attractive and calming environment for recovery. With its soft tone and calming nature, Illusions Grey Gum luxury vinyl plank was installed in the rest and waiting rooms to harmonise the modern furnishing and art work. This resilient flooring is extremely durable with a unique anti-slip backing, waterproof and a commercially graded wear layer to resist many years of high foot traffic, whilst maintainig and adhereing to the safety and hygiene standards. Durability and impact absorption are key factors when choosing flooring for weight and multi-purpose areas from Zumba to boxing classes. PROJECT BRIEF National Flooring Distributors was proud to work in conjunction with Nettletontribe Architects and Abri Projects to supply over 12,000m2 of commercial carpet tile and resilient flooring for the new offices at 85 George St in Brisbane for the Queensland Police Service. When NFD was appointed preferred supplier, we performed within a short lead time of six weeks to deliver all of the required flooring products. Strict BCA requirements including slip rating, critical heat flux, dimensional stability and the castor wear test had to be met. NFD provided certification that not only surpassed these requirements but exceeded industry standards. The project also required that the vinyl plank reduce impact noise transfer. Our Soundless Acoustic Vinyl Plank range was the perfect solution, as it achieves a Ln,w of 61 on a 200mm slab with no false sealing and meets the BCA requirements of a Ln,w of 62 or less. In addition to this, Soundless is also a Level A Global GreenTag certified product. We would like to congratulate Nettletontribe Architects and Abri Projects for delivering an exceptional quality project that ran seamlessly from beginning to completion.
