LADIES OF LAUGHTER
Dear TCAN Members, When TCAN launched the Generations Capital Campaign back in 2013, we set out to achieve three big goals. The strategy was pretty simple – secure a brighter future for TCAN by expanding our audience, preserving our historic facility and reducing our operating expenses. First, we promised to renovate the second floor as a professionally equipped cinema room, allowing us to expand programs and introduce new patrons of all ages to TCAN. We did it – and in just two years, movie attendance has exceeded 11,000 and thousands have used the space for public and private events of all kinds.
DIRECTOR’S NOTES Finally, we committed to “burn the mortgage” and retire the construction debt remaining from the original firehouse renovation in 2002. This will save TCAN thousands of dollars in interest payments and eliminate an annual operating expense of $40,000. We are less than $300,000 away from achieving all three of these transformative goals, and feeling more confident than ever in TCAN’s future. Help us finish strong! Visit natickarts.org/capitalcampaign to learn more.
Thank you for your generous support! Second, we committed to create a Building Fund to insure the preservation of our unique and historic firehouse. Our goal was to address some badly needed building repairs and create a $100,000 reserve fund that would allow TCAN to maintain our David Lavalley, Lavalley, 150-year-old building into the future without Executive Director putting arts programs or the organization in financial jeopardy.
