Dear TCAN Members, Thanks to the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund and MetroWest Subaru of Natick, our grand old Firehouse will be receiving some muchneeded care and attention in 2019. For nonprofit arts organizations like TCAN that rely on contributions, maintenance projects are among the most challenging items to fund. Fixing old windows, patching broken railings and replacing air conditioning equipment isn’t very exciting to most donors, but is absolutely critical to sustaining our arts programming. Before the end of this year, we’ll move forward with three large capital projects:

DIRECTOR’S NOTE Second, we have scheduled a major waterproofing project to address deterioration of the foundation walls in the basement, where the TCAN staff offices are located. This project will protect the building from rain, ice and snow and make the basement a much more pleasant working environment. Finally – and most visibly to our members and patrons – we will repair the concrete floor and install a new resinous sealant in the large performance space on the first floor. This will allow for greater protection, lower maintenance costs and provide a more sustainable surface for years to come.

These projects represent an investment of $100,000 in our historic building, made First, we will proceed with repairs to multiple possible by MetroWest Subaru and the sections of roofing that have developed Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund. We leaks since the restoration took place in are deeply grateful! 2003. While we address these repairs above the main lobby and second-floor lobby areas, we’ll also add insulation to provide additional energy cost savings. David Lavalley Executive Director
