Can you believe it’s March already and the quarter is coming to a close! After experiencing another rise in interest rates we thought we would see an increase in stock and decrease in buyer demand, but so far that has not happened. There was very strong buyer demand and results throughout most suburbs of the Northern Gold Coast.
What we have noticed is that sellers have caught up to where the market value is at now and luckily are experiencing little seller competition. Buyers on the other hand are now of the belief we are nearing the end of interest rate rises and are hoping to get in to ride the wave back down in the coming 12 months - 2 years.
The unknown right now is what is going to happen to the 56% of mortgage holders who’s fixed rate ends in the coming months. Will this cause distressed selling? An influx of stock on the market? A decrease in buyer demand? …… Unfortunately we won’t know until time has passed but it does appear that Aussies are prepared to weather this storm for now!
