How to use cam locks
Did you know?
Cam locks are used to join t wo panels together, usually the edge of one to the flat side of another.
First, your cam bolt (or cam pin) will need to be properly inser ted into the flat side of the board.
Import ant Note: Only tighten the cam bolt until it is secure. Do not over-tighten.
Next, you will fit the proper hole on the edge of the associated joining panel over the cam bolt.
Import ant Note: When installed properly, the head of the cam bolt will be visible through the larger hole on the side of the joining panel.
Next, you will notice the cam lock has a “C” shaped back. Commonly, an arrow on the front of the cam lock points in the same direction as the open sec tion on back.
Using these as your cue, insert the cam lock into the large hole so the opening of the “C” fits over the head of the cam bolt.
Using a screwdriver, you will turn the cam lock until it stops, usually between 130º or 180º. You will feel the panels pulling closer until they are secured.
Import ant Note: Only turn the cam lock until the panels are fully engaged & feel secure. Turning too far may lead to hardware failure.
Still having issues?
If a cam loc k seem s to be spinning in plac e or is not “catching” or pulling the panel s together as expected, first rem ove the cam loc k & try agai n while ma ki ng sure that every thin g is properly positoned & oriented.
If you are still having issues getting things work in g as expected, firs t remove the cam lock then unscr ew the cam bolt slightly (less than 1 complet e turn) to see if that helps with the alignment of the cam lock & bolt .
Step 4 x 6pcs
Next, insert more Wooden Dowels (2), this time into the Top Panel (A). Then line up the Top Panel (A) with the pieces that you just assembled and finally secure it in place using the Cam Locks (3).
3 x 4pcs
Attach the Bottom Stretcher (Front) (I) to the dresser and secure into place using the Cam Locks (3). Step 5
x 4pcs
Next, you will attach the Top Stretcher (Front) (B). Making sure the large holes are facing upwards, secure it in place using Cam Locks (3) and M4 x 40mm Screws (7). Step 6 3 x 2pcs 7 x 4pcs
Step 7
Next, locate the M8*30mm Wooden Dowels (2) and place them into their corresponding holes, as shown below.
Then grab the Bottom Panel (G) and secure it to what you’ve assembled so far using the Cam Locks (3) and M4*35mm Screws (7).
8
Next, using the 1/4” x 30mm Hex Button Head Bolts (9), you will attach each Metal Stretcher (Top) (H) to the Bottom Panel (G).
Be sure to only tighten these to 80% for the time being!
x 4pcs
Step 9
Time to give your dresser a leg up (or two)!
Take both of the Metal Base Side Frames (K) and secure them to the bottom of your dresser assembly using the 1/4” x 30mm Hex Button Head Bolts (9).
Be sure to only tighten these to 80%.
x 8pcs
We’re about halfway through!
First, begin securing the Metal Stretcher (Bottom) (J) in place using two 1/4” x 12mm Hex Button Head Bolts (8). Tighten to 80%.
Then insert the 1/4” x 30mm Hex Button Head Bolts (9) through each Metal Base Side Frame and into the Metal Stretcher (Bottom). Tighten these to 100%.
Now that we’ve got the cabinet assembly so far along, it’s time to move onto the drawers.
Attach the Drawer Side Panels (L) to the Drawer Front Panel by first placing the Wooden Dowels (10) in place before finally securing everthing together using the M4 x 40mm Screws (7) & Barrel Nuts (16).
Tighten to 80%. Step 11
Helpful Tip:
If the Screw (7) isn’t lining up with the Barrel Nut (16) properly, use a screwdriver to help slightly re-position the Barrel Nut (16) into its proper alignment.
Now, you will install the Drawer Bottom Support Stretchers (O) using Cam Locks (3) & Wooden Dowels (10).
13
Slide the Drawer Bottom Panel (N) into place
Step 14
Now, time for the Drawer Back Panels.
First, insert the Wooden Dowels (10) into the Drawer Back Panel (M). Then secure it in place using M4 x 40mm Screws (7) and Barrel Nuts (16).
Next, secure the Handles (4) in place using M3.5 x 14mm Screws (5).
Repeat for all 3 drawers.
NOTE: The drawer side panels with the labels are to be used for and installed as the top drawer.
We want your product to last as long as possible, so we recommend that you re-tighten all fasteners 2 weeks after assembly and for added safety check the tightness of all fasteners every 2 months.
Step 15
Before continuing with the next steps, be sure that all 6 sliding drawer rails are pushed back all the way.
Left side panel
Right side panel
To get started on installing the bottom drawer, extend the bottom rails out to full extension.
Next, with the bottom rails fully extended, you will slide both sliders through the grooves on each of the drawer side panels. See the following page for additional details.
CAUTION: You’ll need two people to assemble the drawers, so grab a friend. During installation both sides must be installed at the same time.
NOTES: Only one drawer can be opened at a time; if you are installing the bottom drawer, then the middle drawer slider and upper drawer slider must be completely closed (or pushed all the way back).
Step 17 cont.
Align the grooves on the side panels of the drawer with the support points on the metal slide rail, and then slide the drawer box onto the slide rail.
HELPFUL TIP: you will need to line up the holes properly in the next steps to finally secure the drawer to the sliders.
This step requires two people to install both the left and right sides simultaneously.
Once the holes in the slide rails align with the holes in the drawer sides, use a screwdriver to begin to secure the drawer to each of the slide rails with the 1/8 x 16mm bolt (18). Be sure to only tighten these to 75% Step 18
Tighten it to 75%.
x 2pcs
Install the second bolt on each side of the drawer, as shown below, then tighten it everything to 100%.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not overtighten the bolts.
x 2pcs
If the holes are not aligned properly, please gently move the drawer up or down.
Tip: Please re-tighten these bolts every two months.
Step 19
Now, its time for the middle drawer.
First, make sure the bottom drawer & top metal rails are pushed all the way in.
Then, secure the middle drawer in place by following the same order of assembly as you did in Step 17 & 18.
NOTE : When installing the middle drawer, you need to close the bottom drawer.
x 4pcs
Note: Only one drawer can be opened at a time.
Step 20
Now, the top drawer!
First, make sure the bottom drawer & middle drawer are pushed all the way in.
Then, secure the top drawer in place by following the same order of assembly as you did in Step 17 & 18.
x 4pcs
NOTE: When installing the top drawer, you need to close the bottom and middle drawer.
Note: Only one drawer can be opened at a time.
Yay! You can finally see just how beautiful this dresser really is! Adjust the footpads to make sure it’s sturdy, level and stunning! Step 21 x5
Is your drawer looking crooked or unevenly spaced?
Adjusting the feet on the bottom of the base can help solve for proper drawer alignment. Take your time to finely tweak each foot’s height to line everything up properly.
Step 22
Safety first! Secure the Plastic Bracket (for Anti-Tip Kit) (15) to the back of the unit using M3.5 x 14mm Screws (13). Then, loop the Plastic Tether (14) through the bracket.
IMPORTANT NOTE:

Step 23
Find where you want your dresser to live and then you will mount the Plastic Bracket (15) to the wall using the proper wall anchors - 12 or 17and the M4 x 50mm Screws (11).
First, using the bracket as a hole guide, drill 2 proper sized holes in the wall. Then, secure the Plastic Bracket to the wall by driving the M4 x 50mm Screws (11) into the anchors.
Last but certainly not least, loop the Plastic Tether (14) through both brackets and then through itself to safely secure the unit to the wall.
