The Al Ain Palace is constituted of 6 courtyards, each one acting as a cluster for the exploration of sub-topics and their overarching themes.

In this approach, courtyards serve as an introduction and point of focus for anecdotes about the different topics that are explored in the buildings.

The museum can be visited in two ways. The first one, which has been chosen to carry the narrative of this presentation, proposes to discover the palace going from the private to the public spaces, according to their original uses, underlining the hospitable and community-oriented nature of the family that lived there and participated in the growth of the oasis. In this option, Building 4 acts as introduction to the overall story. The second, proposes a reverse path, from the public to the private, following the ingression of a visitor into the heart of the palace. In this option, Building 4 concludes of the visitor’s journey.

The visitors’ paths navigate through each of the sections, building up an overall narrative about the evolution of the palace based on its phases of construction and the evolution of its uses and modifications.

The design approach, lightly inspired by the ping pong game, illustrates the innovation’s ability to create efficient conversation.

The recessed circles, which holds all the interpretative and interactive elements such as the pictograms, serves to educate the visitor on a new way of communication that is engaging and visually playful.

Fire Station Galery, Doha, Qatar

The station was built in 1982 as a Civil Defence building. It was occupied by the fire brigade until late 2012 when it was handed over to Qatar Museums, to be recycled for contemporary use. The Archtiect preserved original details and has ambitious plans for the existing tower, which will be covered in LED lighting woven into steel mesh. This mesh will be used to display digital artworks, project images and public messages. Interior concdpt followed the look the feel of the building of 60’s with warehouse as a main concept.
