Contract and analytical services for industry
The Centre for Validation Technologies and Analytics (CVTA) is the starting point where we can successfully determine your needs for contract research. At CVTA we routinely perform different GMP certified services, including force degradation studies, validation and transfer of analytical procedures and GMP analytics, qualitative and quantitative analytical testing of commercial products/goods with validated analytical procedures pin GMP environment and issuing certificates of analysis and compliance. We are also an entry point for establishing problem-solving services for industry. We approach these activities by forming project groups of NIC researchers with adequate knowledge and research infrastructure. This allows us to successfully solve various challenges facing our industrial partners.
The cooperation of the National Institute of Chemistry with Lek company, which is part of Novartis group in Slovenia is one of the best examples of how Slovenian industry in close cooperation with academic institutions can develop modern innovative products that can be sold worldwide. The beginnings of the National Institute of Chemistry's co operation with Lek company go back to the 1960s. In the late 1990s, close collaboration began in the development of similar biological drugs. It should be mentioned that the mixed research group was engaged in the development of second-generation pharmaceutical proteins and was awarded several times for achievements in the development of similar biological drugs (in 2003 it received the Gold Award of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia and in 2014 it received the Puh Award of the Republic of Slovenia).
The National Institute of Chemistry and Lek company continue to work closely together. Researchers of the National Institute of Chemistry participate with state-of-the-art knowledge and the use of state-of-the-art research infrastructure in various analytical and development activities. The cooperation of the National Institute of Chemistry with Lek company is an exceptional example of close and good cooperation of academic institutions with high-tech companies. Only strategic long-term cooperation can lead to breakthrough innovations that quickly find their way to the market and thus represent a good model for cooperation between the Slovenian academic community and industry.
