Inclusion NASW-NJ hosts the largest annual convening of professional social workers (and other helping professionals) on the East Coast. We expect over 1,000! In 2023, attendees, presenters and exhibitors showcased the diversity of the profession-with clinicians, researchers, nonprofit leaders, advocates, addictions experts, family & child therapists, educators, healthcare workers and futurists represented.

Inspiration

Our theme this year is: “Life in a Traumatic World: Implications for Social Work Practice.” According to the National Council for Behavioral Health, 70% of adults have experienced a traumatic event in their lifetimes. This mean more than 223 million people are living with the effects of trauma in the U.S. Over the three days of our conference, we will examine how trauma affects our clients and ourselves, and also learn about cutting edge modalities to treat this pervasive and challenging subject.

This year’s conference will feature a limited seat engagement called Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope. This film covers the progress of cutting-edge science to help overcome the debilitating effects of trauma. And it our hope to inspire all our attendees to feel empowered to help others going through it.

The NASW-NJ Annual Conference is curated to showcase diverse thought, practice areas, and exhibitors and to engage speakers and participants from all backgrounds. Our event features a wide array of unique presenters that all bring their varying experience and stories to our discussions.
