ANNUAL CITY BUDGET
At the Special Council Meeting held on September 25, 2017, the City Council approved the FY18 Annual Budget. This year’s General Fund (maintenance and operations) budget is $5,720,580 and the total budget for all funds is $17,426,900. At the Council Meeting held on October 9, 2017, the City Council approved the tax rate that funds a portion of the maintenance, operations, and debt service in the FY18 Budget. The adopted tax rate was maintained at the same tax rate as the previous three years: $0.742120/$100 valuation. This tax rate is lower than both the effective and rollback tax rates. On a home valued at $100,000, the average homeowner will pay around $697.96 in property taxes to the City of Nassau Bay. The FY18 Annual Budget funds a total of $4.49 million in capital projects. These projects include several improvements and rehabilitation projects to the water and wastewater system, stormwater drainage, street repair and improvements, lake dredging, park improvements, building improvements, a new Fire Station and much more.
