The CANBE Board of Trustees gives a heartfelt “Thank You” to Gayle Nelson for her service as their tireless leader for the past 8 years years. A passionate advocate and leader in the Nassau Bay community, she was the clear choice for Chair when she assumed the role in 2016, breathing new life into a nonprofit that exists solely for the betterment of Nassau Bay residents’ lives.

She has been involved in so many amazing CANBE events over the years. A lover of animals, her first and favorite project was the Paws for a Cause fundraiser in 2017 where she helped rally the community to raise in excess of $12,000 to support our animal shelter! In 2021 Gayle, Angela Braun, and Ashley Graves resurrected the Reindeer Fun Run, and the event has grown by leaps and bounds under her stewardship.

Most of all, Gayle hopes that CANBE continues to be “a catalyst that empowers residents to translate their passions, visions, and ideas into tangible improvements for the place we all call home” and that it “continues to grow as an incubator for innovation and civic pride” so that residents feel comfortable to “step forward with their visions.”

Gayle, thank you again for your strong leadership CANBE can’t wait to see what you continue to do in our beautiful community in the coming years because we know you won’t be able to sit still for long!

Please visit NassauBayCANBE org, follow our Facebook group, and see our posts on NextDoor We welcome your support and ideas. We’ll soon be kicking off plans for the 2025 Reindeer Fun Run, so stay tuned for info Let’s make Nassau Bay even better!
