At 8 a.m. on December 5, Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB) is hosting a “no-touch” recycling event in Port Charlotte. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KCB is asking attendees to place items in the trunk of their vehicles and allow them to be unloaded by those working at the event.

This recycling event is the perfect opportunity for those that have electronic items collecting dust; clothes taking up room in their closets; old prescriptions sitting around; and/or documents that need to be shredded.

The list of acceptable electronics for recycling include: desktop and laptop computers; TVs and monitors (two free per car; $20 donation to KCB to defray cost for each additional TV or monitor); servers and server racks; peripherals (keyboards, mice and speakers); switches, routers and network equipment; hard drives, tape drives and other storage devices; projectors; printers; copiers; scanners; plotters; fax machines; cell phones; rechargeable and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) batteries; power supplies and adapters; consumer electronics; telephones; personal digital assistants (PDAs); tablets; game consoles and controllers; DVD/CD/VCR players; and stereo equipment.

Shred-It will be on-site and will be accepting boxes or bags of paper to shred. Attendees are asked to make sure there is nothing but paper to go into the machine. In addition, the Cultural Center will be attending and will be accepting gently used clothing.

Sarasota Center of Light is excited to announce that international mediums Bill Coller and Claudia Zuccolo will join us online for a Sunday Morning Celebration and a workshop.

Our Center prioritizes your well-being and safety as we navigate this time, so our classes and services will continue online on Facebook and Zoom in November. We will immediately email and Facebook any changes that occur.

In addition to Sunday Celebrations, 11 a.m., including Coller Zuccolo on November 8, and “Healing, Intention and Meditation Celebrations” on Wednesdays, 7 p.m., on Facebook Live, we also have classes scheduled on Zoom.

“Religion vs. Spirituality” will be presented by Kara Pasick on November 5. Joan Volpe will offer “The Sound of Health and Well-Being” on November 12. Rev. Jim Toole will present “Spirit in Developing Deeper and Higher States of Meditation” on November 17. Then join Coller and Zuccolo for a three-hour workshop on “Connecting to the Spirit World: Tools and Techniques” on November 28.
