ach year the president signs a proclamation declaring November Military Family Month. This annual proclama-
tion marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of the Military Family in which the DOD and the nation honors the commitment and sacrifices made by service members and their families. Throughout November,
military families serving around the world are recognized through a variety of observances for the many contributions they make every day in support of the military and our nation. Naval Air Station Key West’s Morale, Welfare
and Recreation is hosting Military Family Fun Day from noon - 3 p.m. Saturday at Sigsbee Park to recognize Military Family Month and our local active duty military families. Community businesses are supporting this special event by spon-

rick-or-treating will run 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday for youngsters living in Naval Air Station Key West’s housing areas on Sigsbee Park, Trumbo Point, Truman Annex and Naval Branch Health Clinic Key West. Security will man the gate at Sigsbee Park and personnel will patrol the housing areas in vehicles and on bikes to ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters. NAS Security Officer Lt. j.g. Travis Bachorski said access to housing areas for trick-or-treating will be strictly limited to military and DOD residents only. NAS Housing officials see halloween page 5
