Naval Air Station Commanding Officer Capt. T
he Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Association has selected ABH2 Ronald Lewis, assigned to Naval Air Station Key West’s Fleet Liaison, as the recipient of the Atlantic Fleet’s 2015 Lt. Cmdr. Regina P. Mills Leadership Award. The Mills award recognizes Sailors who show exemplary leadership. Two junior enlisted aviation boatswain’s mates are chosen annually, each from the Pacific
and Atlantic fleets. Lewis is a member of Naval Air Station Key West’s Junior Enlisted Association, co-founder of the Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Association at NAS Key West, and leading petty officer of the Honor Guard. Lewis was nominated by ABHC Terrone Wolliston, who said he shows uncommon maturity, judgment and experience. In the award package he notes that Lewis’ military bearing “raises the level of performance of see lewis page 3

anuel “Alex” Nungaray has taken the helm as general manager of the Naval Air Station Key West Navy Exchange and its satellite minimarts on Trumbo Point and Boca Chica Field. Nungaray, who arrived in May, is responsible for planning, developing and implementing NEXCOM business strategies, policies, procedures and programs for all aspects of the NEX retail store and the
mini-marts at Trumbo, which is home to Coast Guard Sector Key West and the airfield at Boca Chica. He is also responsible for all services’ operations including store operations, services, food services, vending and fuel. The stores’ locations - like at Sigsbee and Trumbo - are part of communities that include families, visiting detachments and visiting retirees. “We are making changes to prosee NEX page 3
