WELCOME TO

To all my fellow Sounds fans…

Welcome to First Horizon Park for another exciting season of Sounds baseball!

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of First Horizon Park in Germantown, and so much has changed since this wonderful facility opened its doors. One of the most exciting developments is the transformation of the surrounding neighborhood.

Today, Germantown offers some of the most attractive options for living, working, and dining in Middle Tennessee. We hope that even more Middle Tennesseans will take the opportunity to experience all that First Horizon Park has to offer this season.

For the past 10 years, First Horizon Bank has proudly been the naming rights sponsor of this fantastic venue, and we are grateful to the Sounds organization for making this a cornerstone of our community.

So, grab your favorite snack, a refreshing drink, and enjoy the game! We’re thrilled to have you with us for what promises to be the best season ever at First Horizon Park.

Let’s play ball!

Sounds Fans –

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Nashville Sounds baseball and the 10th anniversary season of First Horizon Park. Whether it is your first Sounds game or your 1,000th, we are excited to have you at the park.

We would not be where we are today without the support of our partners, season ticket members, group leaders and single-game buyers. Thank you for making Nashville Sounds baseball one of Middle Tennessee’s premier entertainment experiences. Because of your enthusiasm, First Horizon Park was named one of the top 10 Minor League ballparks in the country by 10Best and USA Today in 2024. Being named to this prestigious list is a testament to the support of our fans, and we share this recognition with all of Sounds nation.

We are also proud to have become the first-ever recipient of Minor League Baseball’s Driving Diversity Award through an organizational effort to welcome fans of all backgrounds through a variety of programming and available resources.

As you settle in for a day at the park, I invite you to experience and explore everything First Horizon Park has to offer. From The Band Box to the all-inclusive ticket options, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Hit City. During our 10th season at First Horizon Park, we are excited to surpass five-million fans through the gates since our opening. Our anniversary season includes an expansive promotional schedule highlighted by 26 total gate giveaways, 14 firework shows, and plans to celebrate some of the biggest and most exciting moments in Sounds history.

Each year, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience for the best fans in baseball, and this season is no different. We are excited to have renovated The County Club at The Band Box and replaced and repaired the turf of our signature 9-hole mini golf course in right field for all fans to enjoy.

This year marks our fifth consecutive season as the Triple-A affiliate of the reigning National League Central Division champions, the Milwaukee Brewers. On the field, Nashville was a crucial part of the Brewers’ success a year ago, with more than 30 players having played for the Sounds and Brewers last season. Fans can expect to see the same talent here that will be in Major League Baseball. I cannot wait to see how successful the 2025 season will be.

Thank you for your support and go Sounds!

2025 Roster Preview

The 2025 Nashville Sounds Opening Night roster mixes home-grown, developed talent, with a mix of free agent signings that embodies exactly what has helped the Milwaukee Brewers secure consecutive National League Central championships, three of the last four, and four in the last six years.

It begins at the top with Brewers Senior Vice President & General Manger, Matt Arnold, who has had his fingerprints all over the Brewers success since joining the Brewers as the Vice President and Assistant General Manager in 2015. In his nine years, Milwaukee boasts the third-best winning percentage in the National League (739-618, .545), six postseason births, and four of the five National League Central Division titles in team history.

The winning formula has trickled down throughout the minor leagues.

Since restarting the affiliation with Milwaukee ahead of the 2021 season, the Sounds have racked up the second-most wins (322) in all Triple-A and saw both Double-A Biloxi and High-A Wisconsin make the postseason in their respective leagues a season ago.

All that success means that roster spots in the big leagues are hard to come by. Guys who were there want to stay, and players outside the organization want to be a part of it. Arnold knows that makes his job, and the job of his staff all that more difficult.

“It’s a good problem to have in some ways,” said Arnold in a spring training interview with Sounds broadcaster Jeff Hem. “We have a lot of players who

are very talented and certainly can be ones that can impact us this year in the big leagues. A lot of those players are going to be in Nashville. We know that. We had a lot of them help us last year.”

He is referencing some of the 31 different players that spent time both with the Sounds and the Brewers last year and helped Milwaukee capture the division 10 games clear of the Cardinals and the Cubs.

Three of those same players will be with the Sounds to start this season. Opening Day starter, and Milwaukee’s no. 23-ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline, Carlos Rodriguez made his Major League Debut last year and had 22 starts for Nashville. He finished second on the club in wins (9), ERA (4.51), and strikeouts (129) only to be outshined by Chad Patrick, the third player in International League history to win the pitching Triple Crown, and first since Rochester’s Dennis Martinez did it in 1976. Patrick will not be on the Sounds Opening Day roster. He broke camp with Milwaukee and made the first Major League Opening Day roster of his career with his big-league debut in sight.

Instead, Rodriguez will be joined by left-hander Tyler Jay and infielder Andruw Monasterio as the only players on the Sounds initial roster to have also played for the Brewers last year.

The experience doesn’t stop there though. In total, nearly half of the Sounds 28-man active roster for when the team takes the field for the very first time this season will have some familiarity doing so for your Hit City squad.

Ten of the remaining fifteen players had Triple-A experience in a different organization in 2024. Of those ten, pitchers Grant Anderson, Deivi Garcia, and Vinny Nittoli each pitched in the big leagues for parts of last year.

- Matt Arnold Brewers Senior VP & General Manager

So, what about the other five players who didn’t play in Triple-A last season? Outfielder Jared Oliva played 26 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2020-2021 and hit .294 for the Arkansas Travelers (Double-A, Seattle Mariners) last year. He also comes to Nashville with 255 Triple-A games under his belt between 2021-2023. Infielder Ernesto Martinez Jr. was a non-roster invitee to big league camp this spring after leading the Southern League in doubles with 30 for Biloxi and added 13 homers to his .284 AVG in 110 games. Catcher Anthony Seigler was at one point the sixth-ranked prospect in the Yankees organization and was just the third catcher the Yankees had ever drafted in the first round of the draft when he was selected 23rd overall in 2018. Outfielder Adam Hall had a two-game stint with the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A, Baltimore Orioles) in 2022 and was named the ‘fastest baserunner’ in the

Orioles organization in 2021 and 2022 by Baseball America. He was also named the ‘best defensive infielder’ in the O’s organization before the start of the 2020 season. In 393 career minor league games, Hall has racked up 111 stolen bases and been caught just 11 times. The last guy on the list that didn’t play Triple-A last year? Jorge Alfaro. The veteran catcher signed a minor league deal with the Brewers in January and has just under 500 career Major League games on his resume.

He’s also not a bad guy to help guide Jefferson Quero along once the top ranked prospect in the system is ready to return to action after missing all of last year with a torn labrum he suffered in the Sounds season opener last year. Alfaro can also help develop the young pitching prospects the Brewers and Sounds have at their disposal.

About those prospects. The Sounds Opening Day roster features four of the top 30 in the farm system highlighted by Jacob Misiorowski. The no. 4 overall prospect for the Brewers also checks in at no. 99 in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects. Also in the rotation along with Misiorowski and Rodriguez will be right-hander Logan Henderson. The no. 13 prospect was a late-season addition for the Sounds at the end of 2024 and made six starts. Then there is Craig Yoho. The hard-throwing, bat-missing, changeup craftsman posted a sub-one ERA in 48 relief appearances between Wisconsin, Biloxi, and Nashville. Checking in at no. 19 in the Brewers Top 30, Yoho’s 0.94 ERA and 42.4 strikeout rate was the best among 1,300 minor leaguers with at least 50.0 IP in 2024.

One guy who is happy to have all this talent is Manager Rick Sweet. Entering the 2025 season as the active wins leader in minor league baseball, and the Sounds all-time winningest manager, Sweet told Hem in Phoenix just how excited he is for his group this year and what fans can expect to see when his club takes the diamond this season.

“I’m very pleased with the pitching right now. I think we have depth, we have guys that have pitched in Triple-A and have had success in Triple-A, guys that have pitched in the big leagues, gone back and forth, and everyone seems to be in a good head frame on where we are at.”

He also knows that while there might not be a ton of thump in the lineup every day, some of the offseason acquisitions and other returners are going to showcase their skills.

“We’re going to put the ball in play, and we’ve got some speed. We’ve got a lot of guys that are 20-30 stolen base guys which I like to have, because we like to run.”

Hopefully the Sounds can pitch and run their way back to the International League playoffs and help the Brewers in their quest for a third-straight National League Central crown along the way.

Jeff Hem continues to serve as the “Voice of the Sounds” for the 2025 season. He enters his 14th year in Music City and his 22nd overall season behind the microphone.

In 2012, Hem arrived in Nashville with eight seasons and over 1,100 games professional baseball experience under his belt. He spent the previous seven season with the Single-A Kane County Cougars of the Midwest League, including 2009 when the Cougars, then an A’s affiliate, were managed by former Sounds skipper Steve Scarsone.

Career highlights for the 43-year-old include making his regular season Major League broadcast debut in June 2018 with the Oakland A’s for a doubleheader at the Chicago White Sox, being part of the radio broadcast team for the Triple-A All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio, in July 2018, and calling the inaugural game at First Horizon Park on April 17, 2015. While with the Cougars, he also enjoyed the opportunity to call two minor league games at Wrigley Field in Chicago and Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

His additional duties for the Sounds include sponsorship and corporate sales and performing public speaking engagements. In the offseason, Hem continues to call the play-by-play action for several college and high school games on television and radio.
