FULL STORY Alkahfi Astronomy Club, container studied astronomy at the junior high school IT Alkahfi reopened this new school year, on the 12th of August 2016. As long as we have knew it the city's first astronomical extracurricular sidoarjo because so far we did not find any similar activity in the city.

The spirit of astronomy at this school is so strong even before it opened astronomy class. Imagine, a year ago cleric choirul amin headmaster courageously bought two pieces of reflector telescope, but not even he and the others teachers ever operate the telescope. Doesn't just Never operate, see the telescope was arguably never. Well, even if the telescope had discovered 400 years ago, but in Indonesia the telescope is still a rare commodity. Almost all schools have the microscope, otherwise there is hardly a school that has a telescope.

Tit for tat, the school find the 'signs of life' astronomy in the next town, they asked for SAC-Surabaya astronomy club- to accompany the students to know the universe.

Was quite hard for us when it was time to be willing to be the supervising extracurricular astronomical. Our background is roughly the hobbyist community had no idea if it should enter into the world of education. Then this is a new challenge for us that were once only shared the skies with fellow members must now be willing to share with students. Naturally formed a partnership with an

educational institution can not be indiscriminate, we must carry out the mandate.

Armed professional astronomy books, articles on the internet, and experiences for our astronomical activity, learning materials and workshop began with all the limitations we put our very supported the spirit For turn the science of astronomy in this country.

Start class with Observation of the night sky, observing the solar eclipse of March 2016, astronomy knowledge, learn the solar system, understanding how the universe works, learning telescopes, etc. Alhamdulillah, the year has been running smoothly without any major obstacles.

This year the school asked us For further this mission, resume extracurricular activities astronomy which has been running. Glad and depressed has mixed simultaneously inside. We are happy because it is believed For continuing this astronomy program, but another side we also have to draw up another upset because materials and training new resume that has been accomplished.

God blessing us, 2 weeks before extracurricular astronomy in SMP IT Alkahfi we got a chance to gain knowledge along NASE, Network for Astronomy School Education which is an astronomical learning program initiated by the IAU. This golden opportunity was not we vain, training for 4 days taking place at the Ma Chung University of Malang East java so we utilized as best as possible, various materials are ready for our feedback to be applied in the composition of the material that we will use specially For curricular astronomy we are doing nowadays.

In opening ceremony back for this time we actually want to total on activity in the field because the most interesting thing in the beginning of the introductory astronomy is looking up the sky, directly or behind the telescope eyepiece, remember half of the participants are brand new 7th grade students who not following yet an astronomy class before.

The sky is so bright with stars while sunset ahead, we'll optimism will great observation this time, but an hour later, after the evening prayers' when the event was about to be opened, the telescope have prepared, participants already gathered in the field too, suddenly overcast thick covering the sky night. There are no objects that we can observe the sky. Sky dance by mars, saturn, and antares on stage Milky Way was not able to enjoy, even a first quarter of the moon in that night that the moon does not emit the slightest ,charming behind the curtain clouds getting late getting rolled horizon.

We waited an hour in the field, but the sky weather is not changed. Then immediately we decided to go to class turned the event. We don't want to make the student upset, we began to introduce astronomy-related videos from the video footage of the universe and the activities that we have done. Our classes cover with introducing Stellarium sky simulation applications, functions and how to use them.
