“Building Black Wealth through Homeownership”
Together…. we can make the difference!
NAREB, Inc. …about the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc. (NAREB) NAREB was founded in Tampa, FL in 1947 as an equal opportunity and civil rights advocacy organization for Black real estate professionals, consumers, and communities in America. Our purpose remains the same today, but we have expanded the organization’s mission to include a goal-oriented focus on “economic empowerment,” a basic tenet of equal opportunities and civil rights. Although composed principally of Black real estate professionals, the REALTIST® organization embraces membership of all qualified real estate practitioners who are committed to achieving NAREB’s vision and core value objective of “Democracy in Housing.”
INTRODUCTION
The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) invites you to become a Realtist Partner for our 2016-17 program year. Our overarching goal of Building Black Wealth Through Homeownership sets the tone of the programmatic initiatives, advocacy efforts and educational focus for the NAREB National Convention, Regional Conferences, and community-based events held annually. NAREB is galvanizing a campaign of public awareness and direct action to reduce the tremendous wealth gap through promotion of homeownership as a strategic wealth building tool for Black Americans. We believe that our Realtist partners, both continuing and new to NAREB, recognize the significance of homeownership as an attainable goal and aspire to be a part of the solution to housing problems. Alignment with NAREB to promote homeownership, positions our partners with a competitive advantage in the market that affords opportunities for creation of brand equity, relationship building and development of goodwill. What follows is a look at NAREB’s program year, and opportunities for sponsorship participation at levels that best fits your brand marketing and partnership commitment. Each opportunity is structured for maximum brand visibility consistent with your company’s business objectives and NAREB’s goal to increase Black wealth through homeownership. Whether you’re interested in reaching Black real estate professionals, Black consumers in targeted communities, or both, a NAREB strategic partnership/sponsorship provides an efficient channel for penetration of these profitable and potential growth market segments. A partnership with NAREB positions your business as a valued and trusted collaborator. Black America is counting on all of us to regain a foothold on America’s economic ladder. We welcome your interest in NAREB’s 2016-2017 partnership opportunities. For additional detailed information, please contact C. Signature Events & Programs Connect Your Company’s Brand with NAREB’s and Watch Your Market Share Grow! Annually, NAREB presents substantive programming on the national and mega-regional levels designed to enhance our members’ capacity to serve their customers, expand collaborations, and to keep Realtists informed about real estate industry trends and critical policy developments and decisions affecting Black homeownership. In addition, NAREB offers prime opportunities for partners to showcase new products or services, introduce trendsetting tools or methodologies designed to grow Realtists’ businesses enabling members to increase Black homeownership within their respective markets. This year, NAREB launched, promoted, and held Community Wealth Building Day events in five markets that connected predominantly Black consumers – from Millennials to pre-retirement age groups – with the essential “what-to-know-before-you-buy” information along with resources, educational sessions and credit analysis. The multi-city events will continue to be convened as part of NAREB’s efforts to prepare Black consumers to understand the importance of homeownership as a key wealth building element.

Marketed throughout the area to reach Black prospective homebuyers. Consumer presentations include information about the home buying process, mortgage loans, down payment assistance, one-on-one credit counseling, and access to lenders and other service providers.
State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA)
Now in its fourth edition, NAREB’s groundbreaking report, the State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA), serves as the research-based foundation for NAREB’s advocacy and programmatic platforms to reverse the downward slide of Black homeownership. The report is published on a bi-annual basis with updates reported annually during NAREB’s Issues Forum held at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference. NAREB’s aggressive initiative, “2 Million New Black Homeowners in 5 Years” a NAREB SHIBA Solutions Program, announced at the 2016 National Convention represents the organization’s actionable multi-year effort to identify, leverage, or eradicate barriers disproportionately affecting the increase of Black homeownership.
Youth Financial Literacy & Leadership Academy
Scheduled during NAREB’s national convention to prepare youth, in age-appropriate groupings, with the necessary tools and background to make informed financial decisions along with the elements that determine leadership. The dynamic, interactive sessions are conducted by trained financial literacy specialists who present the curriculum in a relatable manner to pre-teen and teen participants. Youth participants leave with instructive materials, enjoy field trips and visit the convention city’s historic sites and other age-appropriate attractions.
National Open House Weekend
Scheduled in June during the annual observance of National Homeownership Month to spotlight NAREB members listings in their respective markets, and to encourage Black American prospective homebuyers to consider the valued services of NAREB Realtists and our efforts to build wealth through homeownership. Program works with NAREB’s goal of 2 Million New Black Homeowners in 5 Years.
NAREB University Business Development & Relationship Building
Enhancing Realtists’ skill base to ensure business growth is at the core of NAREB’s mission. Professional and leadership development seminars, webinars and podcasts are scheduled throughout the year complimenting NAREB’s on-site sessions held during the National Convention and Mega-Regional Conferences. Instructors are recognized trend-setters in their fields and the content presented is designed to position Realtists ahead of the curve.
