REALTIST WEEK was proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1981 when he acknowledged The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) and its proud member Realtists for their high standards in leadership and professionalism. He instituted this week in American History as Realtist Week.

REALTIST WEEK 2016 | Sunday April 3rd

Day of Worship and Prayer Thank God for his blessings and life. Pray for our Country, its leaders, NAREB and its leaders. Pray for Ronald Cooper, our President, to keep the organization strong and affluent. Pray that we carry out our goals and stay on track with our mission of 2 Million new African American Homeowners in five years. Pray for our partners and sponsors‌that we continue to grow together in strength and membership and that we provide great support, together in this industry.

Let your pastors know that you will be attending their services a few weeks in advance, request 5 - 10 minutes during your church service to introduce NAREB to the congregation. Distribute handouts and be available after service to talk with the congregation about membership, the week's activities and what NAREB does to assist the community. Also, remember to provide a contribution to the church on behalf of your local chapter.

REALTIST WEEK 2016 | Tuesday April 5th Political Action Day  Plan a meeting with your local city, county and state officials addressing important issues in your area  Collaborate on significant local issues with NAREB national office (such as Flint water crisis – affecting the economic and real estate market)  Plan meetings with the local housing commissions and authorities.  Contact your local HUD office for assistance and contributions towards meeting expenses  Direct info towards community centers, neighborhood clubs and family members, social networks  Attend City Planning Meetings  Understand the issues and agendas that are important to your city officials The Civil Rights Act fought tough opposition in the House and a lengthy, heated debate in the Senate before being approved in July 1964 President Lyndon Johnson shakes hands with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr at the signing of the Civil Rights Act.
