Get, Set, Go…. These are the words we hear before we rise on our toes to a hundred meter dash. When you are on your knees, you really will not know who is on your sides. Nothing else is on your mind, except to reach the finish line before anyone does. And what have you done? You set your goal with all intensity and focus without an iota of distraction. You were not on your knees at the start line without preparation. Yes you practiced, took the help of the coach, read about achievers; all with focused mind, just to be the “first”. Same analogy applies in life too, be it studies, personal achievements, accomplishments with a slight change that you set your goal and run your own race. Mind you, in such race there is no competition and that demands your determination and will to pursue. Your goal may be to climb Everest and that calls for experience in high altitude trekking, which can be experienced by climbing the smaller peaks in the Himalayas. The strategy in life is to set smaller goals, achieve it and celebrate it. This brings unprecedented confidence and faith in you to pursue bigger goals. But how can you be a determined person?
