River Trail Village is open to all Napa Valley College students with a preference given to those taking at least six units in both Fall and Spring term. Students must be 18 at or before the time of move-in. Families are welcome with an enrolled NVC student who meets the above criteria.

GUARANTOR EXPLAINED A guarantor is someone who will be financially responsible for your license agreement, typically a parent or guardian, if you are unable to pay your rent. The guarantor must reside in the United States and be at least 25 years of age. We know students may not have someone that fits this criteria, so please contact our office as we do not want this to be a barrier for students.

ROOMMATE MATCHING
The rent rate covers ALL utilities including: WIFI, water, electricity, gas, trash, etc. Living on campus makes paying your bill simple since there is only one bill to pay for all of your housing costs.
Buildings two and three are rented by the bed, so you are only responsible for the rent rate listed and you do not have to fill the unit to be placed there. After you sign the agreement, you will be automatically invited to join RoomSync, our roommate-matching software. This allows you to create a profile and find someone you think would be a good match.
River Trail Village will have staff available 24/7/365 to assist residents. We will provide a variety of opportunities to make friends, connect with campus resources, and engage fully in the college student experience.
CA HOUSING GRANT RATE River Trail Village will offer a select number of beds in the residence hall (only) at a lower rate as low as $799 per installment on a first-come, firstserve basis to those who are eligible. The criteria for eligibility is based on SB/AB 169 and determined based on financial need. Students who receive the grant must maintain 12 degree-applicable units per semester and will be notified no earlier than March 1 if they qualify for the discounted rate.
To provide the maximum amount of time to find a roommate and to maximize the number of students whom you can potentially match with, we will begin sending room assignments in late June for those who request a roommate or match with someone on Roomsync. If you don't match with a roommate, you should expect your room and roommate assignment in mid-July, approximately one month before your anticipated move-in date. Please note, once you have a room assignment, we will not be able to make any changes to that assignment until the 3rd-4th week of classes in the Fall semester.

Whether you need to use our roommate matching software, RoomSync, to find a roommate or want to be prepared about what to expect in August, we will send information to the email used for your RTV application.
Move-in will occur in August 2024 with specific dates and details shared at a later date.
Don’t forget to apply/enroll to Napa Valley College and submit your FAFSA or CA Dream Act application.
Once you’ve submitted your application you will be asked to fill out a form that helps us learn more about our future residents so we can prepare to provide the best experience possible for our community.
If you have a guarantor listed on the application, you both have to sign it within 14 days of each other. The license agreement is a legally binding contract that does not end until July 2025, even if you are not taking summer classes.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will Financial Aid cover the cost of rent?
What food options will be available at River Trail Village?
If you are eligible for federal and state financial aid, it may help cover part of the cost of housing expenses, however it may not be enough to cover the full cost. NVC is exploring all options with grants, scholarships, and the NVC Foundation to assist students with the cost.
Each apartment has a full kitchen in each unit and the residence hall has multiple kitchens throughout the building with state-of-the-art healthy vending on the first floor. We are exploring all options to make access to food easier, both in terms of meal options on campus as well as transportation opportunities.
Will River Trail Village be pet friendly?
Can I bring additional furniture?
Only service and approved emotional support animals are permitted in RTV. Emotional support animals must be approved by the College. Please contact the NVC Disability Services Office for more information.
For building 1 (unfurnished apartments), you are welcome to bring furniture as it is not included. For buildings 2 (furnished apartments) and building 3 (residence hall), you are welcome to bring furniture with you, however, you are responsible for ensuring all furniture originally provided is present at move-out. We are unable to remove any furniture.
Is there an extra fee for parking? Residents will need to purchase a student parking permit that allows them to park at RTV and anywhere the student permit is valid. There is no additional cost beyond the standard permit fee set by NVC.
Can I go on a tour? Yes! We will be offering hard hat tours starting in Spring 2024! Contact our office for details!
HOW TO APPLY 1. Go to rivertrailvillageatnvc.com 2. Click on Floor Plans.
3. Click on "Apply Now" for your top floor plan choice. If a floor plan isn't listed, it is already filled.
4. Create your account! Most students will choose the “I will have a guarantor” option. Residents of River Trail Village will be required to provide one of three things: A guarantor - A guarantor is an individual that agrees to pay a borrower’s debt if the borrower defaults. This person must be 25 years old and reside in the US. Proof of income - typically 3x the monthly rent rate A waiver - Waivers will be granted on a case-by-case basis for those who are unable to meet the other requirements.
5. If you use a lived name, you will be able to tell us that later. We need your legal name to match up with your admissions record.

Make sure to use an email that you will continue to have access to since you will keep using this account during your time at River Trail Village. You can change your email at any time in the Resident Portal. Make sure to remember your password too!
If you have a guarantor, they will create their own account, so please make sure your email address is specific to you and that no one else has access.
6. After you create your account you will need to submit your personal information again.
7. Enter your secure information (sensitive data).
Make sure you fill in your middle name or check the box if you don’t have one.
If you do not have one, you will need to select one of the options below, such as a Drivers License, Visa, Passport, or Napa Valley College Student ID number.

Are you an international student? Make sure to choose the correct country.
You will need to put in your vehicle information. Don’t worry if it changes, we can work with you on that.
10. Invite your roommates! Make sure you use the correct email address for them. If you don’t have anyone you know you want to live with, we can help. Once you sign the agreement, you can sign up for our roommate matching software to request a roommate if you did not add one on your application.
11. Enter your financial information. If you have a guarantor, you will enter their contact information on the next page. They will receive an email to create their own account after you submit your application.
12. Enter your guarantor’s information. Make sure to double check you have their correct information and email address. They will get an email to set up their own account once you submit your application. They will need to complete this in order for your application to be fully submitted. If you list more than one guarantor, everyone will need to complete their portion of the application. Each person needs to use a unique email address. By listing a guarantor, you are giving River Trail Village permission to share information with this person(s). River Trail Village will use discretion in most situations, but we will share more with a guarantor. If someone is not listed as a guarantor we will not discuss any information specific to you with them.
If you selected the wrong application type (guarantor or no guarantor) when you started the application, please contact us so we can change it for you.

Review the summary tabs to ensure you have selected the correct floor plan and your information is accurate. Pay close attention to email addresses!
15. View policies and authorize!
16. Submit your payment.
Make sure you view the policies before authorizing! Once you click the view policy button, a new window will appear for you to enter your initials.
There is a $50 fee due to submit your application. Make sure you agree to the Terms & Conditions and click the yellow Pay & Finish button at the bottom of the page.
17. You are done when you see this screen. Make sure you let your guarantor know to check their email so your application is fully complete and submitted. Once they have submitted their part, you’re all set! We will let you know if your application was approved as quickly as possible!
