I’ve selfishly taken a lock of your hair so you’ll always be here with me.

I’d know you’d be grumpy that I cut your hair ... your pride and joy of wear.

You’re unique brand of truthfulness, your occasional ruthlessness, There was nothing you said that wasn’t true, You had your own brand of noisy, We always knew where you were.

It was your silence that got us looking for you everwhere.

You shunned a world which was fake or material Your ideals, hopes and dreams were simply, ethereal I love you my JackyBoy. Your beautiful smile, your amazing friends, No one can believe your journey’s come to an end.

But today my boy, our story, just begins ...

We’ll find you your justice and we’ll follow your spirit, we’ll be well on our way as of today.

We’ll tread in your footsteps, we’ll hold your hand, we’ll honour your legacy as our main man.

We will find the answers you didn’t give up, and then you’ll rest for ever in peace.

Your job now is to trust us, we’ve got your back ... if you let us You are now one at earth, with the sun and the surf, you will be forever young.

You’re at peace with the world, with nature, your values We’ll sip from your cup your daily gratitude and chamomile tea.

We’ll cherish our memories what was, is and might have been.

We know that you loved us, and that sometimes that, that hurt We know that you sometimes doubted your worth Our world is poorer for your passing But your soaring free spirit is everlasting.

Finally, my special thanks to my Mum, who has never left my side, and came with me to sit with my son, her grandson, last week to say our goodbyes. And to my brother Allen who visited Jackson’s final resting place to lay our flowers.
