REDEVELOPMENT HOUSING

Redevelopment Housing of R.K. Puram Sector 5

Semeser - 7

The project aims to redevelop the central government housing complex in R.K Puram, Sector-5. The area of the site is 90.8 acres which is further divided into 4 plots of 14 acres each. To build a housing complex which is midrise and high density, affordable, provides quality of life and communal experiences within the complex. The housing to be constructed is of 840 units considering type I, type II and type III as given by CPWD.

The site has been selected keeping in view the recent redevelopment projects by the Government, most currently being Kidwai Nagar. The previous low rise low density accommodations were not catering to the existing demands and facilities provided hence there’s a dire need of redeveloping these old government housing.

Parn is the sanskrit word for leaf. The attempt is to mimic the character of the green belt which is a major element of the masterplan, responsible for providing the quality of life to the residents. Similar to that of a leaf, a central spine is planned to serve as the main ‘artery’ to connect and function the branches further.

The central spine of the site consists of 3 major components: the central community space for users across all age groups, the commercial space on the right and the common green space on the left. Apart from this, various activity nodes have been defined within the zones of each cluster to induce interaction of residents across the site while responding to the green belt.

The second stage was the massing and placement of the clusters of different typologies. Planned in way that allows the residents to interact locally within the clusters of a typology, while having the opportunity to interact across different typology clusters too. The sense of individual cluster zones is maintained while not being too bold, thus heirarchy of built spaces is created.

The third stage includes the designing of the roads to branch and cater to the organic approach of planning the clusters. The roads are planned to include culdisacks that adds up to the security factor of the cluster zones, while restricting the vehicular movement across the site. The roads mainly branch out from the central spine, similar to a leaf, towards the activity nodes.

The fourth stage proceeds to add certain sensory elements within the branching roads, for the residents to have various stimulating and refreshing experiences, while they walk across the site. This stage also includes the designing of open spaces around the clusters , a hierarchy of open spaces is designed to introduce interaction at different levels amongst the users.

Walkway was introduced connecting the seventh floor of every towwer of types. which is a semi open space and a major spot for commnity activities

GENERAL HOSPITAL

100 BED GENERAL HOSPITAL WITH A PRE - PANDEMIC BLOCK

Semeser - 5

As per the present situation faced by the world, the pandemic has changed the concept of designing and operations of the hospital buildings. The infrastructure development of such buildings running 24x7x365 days is expected to incorporate separate provisions to cater to the present policies in medical terms. Medical Industry has witnessed a paradigm shift in the fastpaced growing infrastructure and people’s perception to health and health reforms thereof.

In this major project the students are expected to design a 100-bed primary medical facility in an approximately 8 acres of land area in sector 38 Noida, Delhi-NCR. The total built up area as phase I of the plan (area approx. 10,000 sqmt) is to be detailed. The expansion of the building for future development should be outlined in the site

Healing doesn’t only happen inside the hospital building as much as it happens in the whole complex including semi open areas and open areas. The aim was to create a hospital building which provides maximum comfort to the users and has a healing environment. With the pandemic giving us a major hit, it was necessary to design in preparation of the unforseeble future thus a pandemic block is given separately with 60 beds.

FORM DEVELOPMENT

The whole building is divided into two blocks. BLOCK A is a temperature controlled zone with emergency department, maternity complex and operatio theatre complex

Block B has OPD department as well as IPD department. It also has ICUs which are separated from the public zone. Each block has 2 core

IPD, Admin and General Support Dept.

IPD, SICU, General Support Dept. & OT

IPD, MICU, PICU, NICU, Maternity Dept.

OPD, Diagnostics and Emergency Dept.

Total Area without circulation: 6,379 sqm
