nampa rec center The Nampa Recreation Center is a 140,000 square foot indoor facility offering many recreation amenities to the public. Our mission is to provide quality programs and services, be responsive to the citizens, and play an active role in making Nampa a healthy community. To ensure the safety of our members and visitors, the Nampa Recreation Center will enforce all policies and procedures. Monthly Payment Option

Enjoy the convenience of on-going monthly payment drafts directly from your debit or credit account. A minimum 12 month payment contract agreement is required and a one-time $40 activation fee applies. Initial Monthly Rate Individual $35.60 Individual Youth $24.75 Family* $63.60 Senior Individual $28.25 Senior Couple* $51.25 The first month’s fee is prorated. All other payment drafts occur on the 1st of each month. All memberships, and subsequent monthly fees, are subject to annual price increases. Annual price increases, if applicable, take effect on October 1st of each year. Memberships are non-refundable.

All Day Pass, Punch Passes and Membership rates include tax. *To be eligible for a NRC family or senior couple membership the primary member and spouse must be legally married as recognized by the State of Idaho. In addition, only children considered legal dependents ages 18 and under may be included on a family membership. Provisions may be made to place dependent children ages 19 through 21 on a family membership. See the NRC Membership Eligibility policy for details. The NRC may ask for proof of legal dependency or a marriage certificate from anyone registering for a family or senior couple membership.

We want you to be successful regardless of whether you want to lose weight, increase stamina, build muscle, transition from physical therapy or determine your current fitness level. Visit the “Staff Directory” page of our website to learn about our certified training staff. Current personal training options with descriptions are available at the Rec Center or on our website under “Programs”. Member Free, Non-Member $36

The weight room is reserved for individuals 15 years and older. Youth 13 and 14 years old may obtain weight room privileges by completing the NRC’s Youth Strength Training Course. The NRC offers the ZONE for 10-14 years olds and functional training under certain parameters for those as young as 6 years old. Each youth participant must complete an orientation with a trainer and sign a “Youth Training Pledge and Consent” form along with their parent before engaging in training.

The ZONE features 9 pieces of strength training equipment specifically engineered for youth ages 10-14. Stop by or call the weight room for more information or to schedule an orientation. Member Free, Non-Member $15

Body Composition

Determine the amount of fat and muscle that makes up your weight using a 3-site caliper test or bioelectrical impedance test. Member Free, Non-Member $8

Individual Personal Training

Ongoing sessions (60 minutes) which build upon the foundations of the preceding sessions will provide the extra motivation, variety and accountability to help you reach your health, fitness or performance goals. Questions, pricing, or to schedule sessions, contact Sherri Moro at 208468-5884.

Youth Strength Training Course

By successfully completing this 4-day course, youth ages 13 and 14 years will be granted use of the weight room including the free weights (some restrictions apply). This course will focus on safe, productive training and practical experience. Participants are required to attend the entire class and pass both a written and practical exam. Classes are ongoing and require pre-registration at the Program Desk. Member $16, Non-Member $55

Meet with a Registered Dietitian for personalized nutrition recommendations which could include specific dietary changes, an eating plan that outlines portion sizes, appropriate meal composition and timing, food suggestions, food record keeping and meal planning. FREE Diabetes Prevention Program Information Session

1 in 3 Americans are prediabetic, and 90% of those are not even aware of it. Join us if you would like to learn more about this medical condition, how to manage it if you are already diabetic, determine your risk of developing type 2 diabetes OR looking to lose weight the right way and be healthy! You will learn more about a lifestyle change program (Diabetes Prevention Program) that will be starting later in January that is suitable for ALL individuals looking to lose weight healthfully, prevent chronic disease, and become more active. Join us for a yearlong program (26 classes) developed by the CDC to reduce your risk in half of developing T2 diabetes through modest lifestyle changes. Walking Club

Kids in Action Day Camp-(KIA)

The Nampa Rec Center, Kids in Action day camp program is a great way to keep your kids active when school is out. Kids in Action gets your kids moving in a supervised, safe environment. Kindergarten through fifth graders stay actively engaged before and after school, or full day care is available according to the Nampa schools’ schedule, please see Day Camp calendar. Transportation is included to and from any Nampa public school with additional 50¢ charge. No commitment, you only pay for the days your child attends and credits are issued when your plans change if you call by 12:30pm. A $5 late fee will be charged if your child has not been paid for by the end of the day of attendance. Call 208-468-5858 for more information or to set up a tour to see for yourself. The Nampa Rec Center Learning Hub is a great way to keep your kids safe and on task when school is remote. Learning Hub is a supervised, safe environment for kindergarten through fifth graders to stay engaged with their virtual learning assigned by their school. Children must provide their own devices, headphones, and school materials. Our staff will facilitate their online meetings, projects, and homework throughout the day. Snacks are provided for program participants. Parents must provide their children with a lunch and a water bottle. Male and female supervisors will be with the children all night. Children should bring a sleeping bag, swim suit, towel and clothes to sleep in. Mastermind Parkour Multiplayer

Build the most incredible multiplayer madhouse you can imagine. This camp will teach you all the skills you need to learn while creating an incredible multiplayer game where you set the rules (and the traps, the surprises, and the jump scares for all of the players!). Build Your Own Big Bad Bossfight

A new challenger approaches! Learn the process of designing your own video game models and building an epic, VR capable boss battle. In this one-day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents and guardians. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Training. Gymnastics is a great Physical foundation for kids of all ages that helps develop strength, coordination, physical fitness and self-esteem. It will help prepare children for participation in all kinds of sports. Our instructors will help guide children in a positive atmosphere that helps develop their skills and self- confidence. Each class is designed to teach progressions safely and allows the child to move at their own pace. The Nampa Rec Center houses five swimming pools for your exercise and recreational enjoyment. Enjoy access to the Lap Pool, Rec Pool, Deep Pool, and Kids Pool. Homeschool Swimming

The Nampa Rec Center is proud to offer a fun and energetic home school swimming P.E. program. Children of all swimming abilities will be able to participate in activities with other children of similar skills and ages in the swimming pool. On the first day children will be split up based on swimming ability and age. During the two hour period each level group will receive a 30 minute group lesson from one of our nationally certified instructors, the rest is open recreational swimming time for the kids to interact, have fun and be active! This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Jr. Lifeguard Boot Camp

Learn about what it takes to be a lifeguard, such as recognizing a drowning victim, how to assist someone who is struggling in the water and how to perform CPR and first aid. If you’re looking for opportunities to exercise in the great summer outdoors, socialize, and maybe some healthy competition, then we welcome you to our league. Each league will have multiple divisions to meet the needs of each team from the more experienced A division teams to the more recreational players that are just ready to have fun in the C division. Each team will play ten regular season games with a double elimination tournament to follow. Teams may play two games a week. Games begin May 3. The Recreation Center is excited to announce our first weekend Adult Mens Basketball league. Games will be on Saturday and Sunday nights. Game times will be 6, 7, 8, and 9pm. Ultimate Frisbee League

Our league is a low cost and exciting way to play Ultimate Frisbee whether you’re an experienced player or an athlete looking to utilize your unique skills in a new game. This class teaches self confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are nonviolent; sparring is optional. Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. No jewelry or watches during class. A mouth guard and a groin protector cup (males) are recommended. The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including: basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. Join the Nampa Parks and Recreation department for our inaugural Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament. Tournament will be singles only. Players will be placed in random groups of 4, which will play 3 rounds of random courses with all items available at 150cc. The top 2 (by points) from each group will move on to the double elimination tournament. “Smart Steering� and “Auto Acceleration� will be disabled. Relive your middle school years, gather your pals, and compete to be the ultimate dodger. Teams can have up to 10 players on their roster. Spring Coed Goaltimate Tournament

Goaltimate is a fast paced, half court style of Ultimate Frisbee. Teams of 4 (minimum of 1 girl on field) compete by throwing the disc through a goal, and catching it in the designated “zone�. Once a goal is scored or in the event of a turnover, teams need to “clear� the disc by completing a pass in the clear zone at the opposite end of the field. The field is roughly half the size of a typical ultimate field. Max 10 per roster, with hockey style substitutions. April 3 10am Liberty Park $35 (Registration deadline March 30)

Pickleball Lessons

Pickleball is a combination of badminton, tennis, and ping pong. It is played on a badminton size court using a wiffle ball and composite paddle. It is easy for beginners to learn and can develop into competitive play for experienced players. Gym shoes required. Class is for active older adults. Spikeball Tournament

Whether this is your first time, or you have been enjoying this growing sport, be sure to come try your hand in the fun at the Nampa Rec Center. Due to the coronavirus the Senior Center has been closed. However, curbside lunches are being served and the center plans to reopen to in-person dining when it is determined to be safe. Please contact the Senior Center, 208-467-7266 to order a curbside lunch or to get more information. Lunch orders must be placed by 10am. The Nampa Senior Center, adjoining the Nampa Recreation Center’s east side is a wonderful place for seniors to enjoy an assortment of fun activities. Dances, bingo, card games, foot clinic, blood pressure checks and monthly legal clinics are all available! See monthly activity schedules at www.nampareccenter.org. Volunteers are always welcome! Lunch

Lunch is served daily Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon. The public is welcome! You do not need to be a senior to enjoy our lunches and/or other activities. Fees: 60yrs+, $5 suggested donation; under 60yrs $6 charge; and 12yr and under $3. Take out meals are available for $6 but must be ordered before noon. Transportation to and from the Senior Center is available within its service area through Metro Community Services at 208-469-0063.For other transportation options contact the Senior Center for details. Kohlerlawn Cemetery

Kohlerlawn Cemetery is publicly owned and operated by the City of Nampa. The Cemetery is open to visitors each day beginning at dawn and closes each evening at dusk. For burial space fees, opening and closing prices, decoration guidelines and monument setting policies, please visit our website.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas trees may be dropped off at Kohlerlawn Cemetery beginning December 26 through January 17. Trees must be free of stands, lights and all ornamentation. Trees will be turned into mulch and used throughout our parks and trails.

Right of Way Tree Planting

This program provides City of Nampa residents help with planting appropriate trees in the Right of Way areas of their property. Two periods each year, spring and fall, provide citizens with an opportunity to participate in this program.
