Marshallino Beukes The Brave Warriors of Namibia and Botswana made it through to the semi-finals of the COSAFA Cup 2015 on a day of upsets at the Moruleng Stadium on Sunday. Botswana will face Madagascar, after Madagascar won its encounter against the Black Stars of Ghana last night (2-1). Namibia ousted defending champions Zambia in a penalty shoot-out, while Botswana

disposed of host South Africa in the same manner. There were no goals over the two games but

plenty of action, with each decided on penalties. Zambia, playing their first game of the

competition, took on Group A winners Namibia and despite dominating, could not force a

A two-day consultative meeting on national urban and rural land development took place at Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region on Friday and Saturday. The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Sophia Shaningwa headed the consultative meeting. She was accompanied by her two deputy ministers; Sylvia Makgone and Derek Klazen. Various regional governors, traditional authority representatives, mayors, the

chairpersons of all regional councils and officials in the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development also attended the meeting at a local lodge in Grootfontein. In her official opening remarks on Friday, Shaningwa said she had called the meeting to consult with all stakeholders involved in the

quest for urban and rural land delivery to the nation. She said President Hage Geingob on 24 April this year wrote her a letter asking that she provide an action plan to the Office of the President on how her ministry - including subnational governance structures - would fast-track Continues on page 2
