South African injured in accident in the dunes Local traffic authority warns holiday makers against off road driving by inexperienced drivers Erwin Leuschner A tourist from South Africa escaped with minor injuries after he was involved in an accident in the dunes in the vicinity of Langstrand on Saturday afternoon. The 28-yearold was discharged from hospital the day after the incident. Although everyone is relieved that the tourist only came off with light injuries, a serious warning was extended by the local traffic authority over the weekend for people to take care when driving off road especially in the dunes

Drunk driver’s licence revoked for one year Floris Steenkamp A man's driving licence was revoked for a period of one year, following his conviction last week in the Walvis Bay magistrates court on a charge of drunken driving. He was also slapped with a N$8000 fine, alternatively a period of one year imprisonment. Johannes Shitaleni, the man referred to above is one of 24 drunken drivers arrested during law enforcement operations on 8 to 10 December.
