Special Guest(s)-none Reports of Officers:
4th VP- Vacant 3rd VP - Eddie Murphy - excused 2nd VP- Terrence Super Acknowledged Krista Beals & Steve Teding for doing a great job in Vallejo. In Livermore we filed an 8.5 equability grievance and just a reminder make sure you file equability grievances in your office when found appropriate. Management is sending home carries on light duty not trying to find them work. I've been told the MPO is advising management to issue discipline to carriers. o 1 st VP- Mary Abante My Pittsburg office is currently conducting route inspections. My steward there Michael Sawaya does stand ups daily and reminds carriers to take their breaks and their lunch so to have the time incorporated into their routes. Management is implementing route adjustments in Martinez, and they are sending people home because they have no vehicles. For safety issues fill out a P.S. form 1767. In Alameda we are having issues with management requiring carriers to use Mercedes vehicles and Pro-masters are being used for dismount routes. Rodeo carriers are being told to use code 733 when casing mail which is improper. The supervisor was supposed to do a stand-up on how to clock in on the appropriate route and what code to use but never did. We filed a conduct case on that supervisor. o EVP - Narciso Paderanga In my Lafayette office they hired too many PTF's and are now sending them to other offices. In one of my removal cases management wanted proof the grievant was looking for work and the arbitrator ruled the grievant did not have to show any such thing. We got him paid an extra $1,000.00. Liz Corriea provided excellent testimony and acted as the union's witness for a crossing craft case in which we are asking for 50% additional pay plus an extra $50.00 per carrier as part of the remedy requested At my Civic Center station. The district was in there looking for someone to blame attempting to clean up a lot of political mail left behind. If the district is In your office, please let the Branch know. Any letters of separation issued to probationary carriers should be grieved, so we can verify they are still on probation when in fact sometimes they are not. In a similar grievance we got a carrier paid $4,000.00 but unfortunately, he remained unemployed. o President - Ed Fletcher. Management sent an email to the NBA" s office claiming 3 carriers volunteered to work in Oakland. After speaking to the stewards and carriers all three said they did not volunteer to go. It is our position they all need to return to their employing offices. Stewards, when this happens, please check with those involved to see if they actually agreed to go. In Oakland a carrier was issued a NOR and we fifed a grievance, it was appealed to Step B ready to go to the ORT. A month later that same carrier received a so called "Notice of Administrative Correction• for the same alleged violations with management attempting to correct their position, good luck with that. Please notify your FTO when an employee receives anything out of the ordinary. Once discipline has been issued and a grievance has been filed, tt is in grievance procedure. Anything thereafter must be grieved separately and be very careful when management states it has be rescinded. It could be double jeopardy. o o o
