Queridos artistas este año nuevamente estamos presentes en la celebración del Dia Mundial de la Acuarela, hemos preparado este festival junto a países hermanos, lo hemos hecho con mucho amor, convocando a artistas de todo el país, para que muestren nuestro arte, afianzándo de este modo los lazos de amor, paz, armonía, creando una comunidad cada vez mayor, como venimos haciendo estos ultimo años, nuestro compromiso ha sido el de la union entre los artistas para que juntos transitemos el camino del arte.En estos tiempo difíciles, desafiantes donde debimos aprender a reinventarnos, IWS Argentina ha tratado de estar presente para apoyar la difusión de la acuarela, estamos volviendo de apoco a poder reunirnos, abrazarnos y pintar juntos. En este dia no solo homenajearemos a la acuarela, esta técnica que tantas satisfacciones nos da , sino también la vida, que nos permite este regalo de la amistad fraterna entre los artistas. Sigamos creando sueños con nuestros pinceles, llenemos de emociones nuestro corazones, hagamos, que otros sueñen. Un abrazo fraterno.

Dear artists, this year we are again present at the celebration of the World Watercolor Day, we have prepared this festival together with brother countries, we have done it with a lot of love, summoning artists from all over the country, to show our art, thus strengthening the ties of love, peace, harmony, creating a growing community, as we have been doing these last years, our commitment has been to the union between artists so that together we travel the path of art.In these difficult and challenging times where we had to learn to reinvent ourselves, IWS Argentina has tried to be present to support the diffusion of watercolor, we are gradually returning to be able to meet, embrace and paint together. El ser humano en su afán de comunicarse para transmitir su propia manera de ver la vida, recurre a innumerables medios de expresión, los integrantes de la iws a través del arte de la luz y más específicamente de la técnica de la acuarela, manifiesta de manera estética y bella su agradecimiento por la vida testimoniando pintando su medio natural, su paisaje, su gente su manera particular de sentir y pensar, soñando y amando intensamente para dialogar con sus semejantes. El acuarelista en la actualidad dispone de una gran variedad de materiales que le permiten comunicar sin limitaciones. La calidad y exquisitez cromática, papeles de grandes dimensiones hechas artesanalmente, pinceles, humectantes, se ponen al servicio de la creatividad, permitiendo resultados que lo convierten en una de las técnicas de mayor cultivo y aceptación en el ámbito artístico internacional. Su esencia es el agua y la luz que permite dialogar y deleitar profundamente, invitando a la sensibilidad del espectador a comprender que el enriquecimiento espiritual se produce cuando estos elementos se condensan y fluyen por el sendero de la creatividad. La presente revista contiene acuarelas realizadas con un solo color, son monocromías, sin embargo la transparencia y luminosidad hacen de cada una de las piezas, motivos para el disfrute de la vista y la sensibilidad. La gran familia de la IWS celebra el día mundial de la acuarela renovando su compromiso de abrazar al mundo entero, promoviendo la paz, la libertad y la armonía de la raza humana. Felicidades. The human being in his eagerness to communicate to transmit his own way of seeing life, resorts to innumerable means of expression, the members of the iws through the art of light and more specifically the technique of watercolor, manifests in an aesthetic and beautiful way his gratitude for life testifying by painting his natural environment, its landscape, its people its particular way of feeling and thinking, dreaming and loving intensely to dialogue with their peers. The watercolorist today has a wide variety of materials that allow him to communicate without limitations. The quality and chromatic exquisiteness, large handmade papers, brushes, moisturizers, are put at the service of creativity, allowing results that make it one of the techniques of greater cultivation and acceptance in the international artistic field. Its essence is water and light that allows dialogue and delight deeply, inviting the viewer’s sensitivity to understand that spiritual enrichment occurs when these elements are condensed and flow along the path of creativity. This magazine contains watercolors made with a single color, they are monochromes, however the transparency and luminosity make each of the pieces, reasons for the enjoyment of the view and sensitivity. The great IWS family celebrates World Watercolor Day by renewing its commitment to embrace the entire world, promoting peace, freedom and harmony of the human race. Congratulations. A aquarela é uma das primeiras técnicas de arte com que temos contato quando pequenos. A criatividade da criança é despertada pela acessibilidade do material, o poder começar e parar, a tinta ser inodora, o solvente ser a água, o suporte ser o papel. A união das características da técnica com essa memoria afetiva contribuiu para que muitas pessoas quisessem retomá-la nestes dias difíceis de pandemia. A aquarela envolve uma relação intima com a água. Ao aquarelar devemos performar de tal maneira a direcionar a interação entre água e pigmento e ao mesmo tempo permitir que esta conexão crie a fluidez e as camadas transparentes de tinta que são tão próprias e especiais desta técnica. Sempre falo de conectar para meus alunos de aquarela, todos os dias, durante as aulas. Vamos conectar as camadas da pintura, vamos fazer uma ligação entre os elementos. Conectar pela cor, pela sombra, pela pincelada. Se extrapolamos um pouco este universo percebemos o quão a aquarela é importante para conectar pessoas. Em especial nessa pandemia. Muitas pessoas começaram a aquarelar, como meio de se expressar e de estar conectado com uma atividade prazerosa no dia-a-dia. É maravilhoso ouvir como as pessoas se sentem abraçadas pelas reuniões virtuais de aquarela, alcançando um ponto de encontro com o mundo através delas. Assim como a aquarela, a IWS tem esta importante missão: a de conectar pessoas através da arte. Da mesma forma como unimos pigmentos sobre o papel para produzir nossas pinturas, queremos aproximar pessoas pela aquarela. A celebração do Dia Mundial da Aquarela 2021 vem de encontro a este objetivo: reunir pessoas e poder mostrar um pouco da cultura de cada país revelada pelas pinceladas de seus artistas. Watercolor is one of the first art techniques we get in touch as a child. The child’s creativity is awakened by the accessibility of the material, by the power to start and stop, the paint being odorless, the solvent being water, the support being paper. The combination of the characteristics of the technique with this affective memory has contributed to many people want to take it back in these difficult days of the pandemic. Watercolor involves an intimate relationship with water. When making watercolors, we must act in such a way as to direct the interaction between water and pigment and at the same time allow this connection to create the fluidity and transparent layers of paint that are so unique and special to this technique. I always talk about connecting with my watercolor students every day during class. Let’s connect the ink layers, let’s make a connection between the elements. Connect by color, by shadow, by brushstroke. If we extrapolate this universe a little, we will realize the importance of watercolor in connecting people. Especially in this pandemic. Many people started doing watercolors as a way to express themselves and connect with a pleasurable everyday activity. It is wonderful to hear how people feel welcomed by virtual watercolor encounters, reaching a meeting point with the world through them. Same as watercolor, IWS has this important mission: connecting people through art. In the same way that we combine pigments on paper to produce our paintings, we want to bring people together through watercolor. The celebration of the 2021 World Watercolor Day meets this objective: bringing people together and being able to show a little of the culture of each country revealed by the brushstrokes of its artists. En este segundo año en que IWS Iberoamérica celebra el día Mundial de la Acuarela, queremos transmitir un mensaje pleno de alegría y confianza, un canto único, de integración, paz y esperanza. La invitación es a disfrutar la magia de la acuarela, que funde en un solo acto el Agua, los Pigmentos y el Papel, una acción simple pero profunda … Así también, los diferentes países de Iberoamérica se funden con sus diversas culturas y expresiones para comunicarnos en el lenguaje propio de la acuarela. Es la oportunidad de conocernos mejor en torno a la técnica pictórica que nos apasiona, en este momento nos sentimos conectados unos con otros, participando de la gran familia IWS, que se extiende cada día con mayor fuerza. En este nuevo año de celebración, desde Chile queremos seguir avanzando en crear una comunidad artística mas fuerte y comprometida, en beneficio de la difusión de esta técnica y también impulsar la motivación y promoción de todos los artistas, tanto en el ámbito nacional como a nivel global. Con gran alegría, hemos podido comprobar que la actividad mundial de la acuarela crece y se consolida cada año, pero también desde Chile presenciamos un gran crecimientos en el interés por cultivar este arte y ser parte de una comunidad mayor como es IWS. IWS Chile les desea a todos los artistas y acuarelistas, un muy feliz día, pero también los invitamos a seguir avanzando, a mantener el entusiasmo y la energía creativa, y sobre todo a valorar los vínculos de amistad que nos sustentan! In this second year that IWS Iberoamérica celebrates the World Watercolor Day, we want to convey a message full of joy and confidence, a unique song of integration, peace and hope. La acuarela esa acuosa técnica de pintar, tan antigua como el hombre mismo ha sobrevivido gracias a que aun en nuestros dias existen pintores que disfrutan de su talento de pintar entre sus aguas endiabladas de colores, con tanto acierto, eficacia y ambición estética la urdimbre maravillosa del paisaje natural y la vida. Seguiremos dejando constancia histórica, que a pesar de los temores y falsas creencias todas infundadas con las acuarelas, sigue siendo un oficio historicamente respetable, durable, y contemporaneo que sorprende emocionalmente los públicos mas exigentes del mundo. Los retos estan latentes y a la orden del dia para quienes se adentren a descubrir que aun existen nuevos metodos, revolucionarias formas, materiales de ultima generación para hacer del ofico una practica sin limite de innovación y preciosismo detallado. La IWS seguira albergando en sus toldas a todos aquellos pintores y lideres que asuman el compromiso de trabajar y motivar a las nuevas generaciones por la continuidad de las acuarelas en el arte universal.

A lo largo del siglo XVIII la acuarela en Europa comienza a tener entidad propia, a diferenciarse de el grabado, a usar el color y el agua. La necesidad de los viajeros de plasmar la arquitectura, de iluminar sus cuadernos, hicieron que estos trabajos parecieran más pintura que dibujo, podemos adivinar que así nació la acuarela. En España nacieron las agrupaciones de acuarela a lo largo del siglo XIX, la primera se creo en 1864 en Barcelona y en 1878 en Madrid la Agrupación Española de Acuarelistas, con artistas de la talla de Mariano Fortuny, etc. Durante el siglo XX el desarrollo de la acuarela en España es notable, surgen nuevas agrupaciones, artistas como Julio Quesada, Ceferino Olive, Rafael Requena, Martínez Lozano alcanzan reconocimiento mundial, se crean tres Museos dedicados exclusivamente a la acuarela, en Llança, Caudete y Crevillente. La difusión y la riqueza de la Acuarela en España crece, los concursos de pintura tanto en salones como al aire libre, hace que los jóvenes conozcan la técnica y empiecen a estudiarla. Los formatos son grandes, se prepara el papel sobre un bastidor y su soporte es consistente. Toman auge los simposios, los encuentros. La difusión por Internet, las redes sociales, videos, cursos hacen que la acuarela como técnica y arte tenga reconocimiento mundial. Los encuentros internacionales toman un valor social, de comunicación personal, de intercambio de conocimientos y esto sin duda es la gran aportación que la Acuarela da al mundo del arte, un arte sin fronteras, un mismo lenguaje. The need of travelers to capture architecture, to illuminate their notebooks, made these works seem more like painting than drawing, we can guess that this is how watercolor was born. Watercolor groups were born in Spain throughout the 19th century, the first was created in 1864 in Barcelona and in 1878 in Madrid the Spanish Association of Watercolorists, with artists of the stature of Mariano Fortuny etc. During the twentieth century the development of watercolor in Spain is remarkable, new groups emerge, artists such as Julio Quesada, Ceferino Olive, Rafael Requena, Martínez Lozano achieve worldwide recognition, three Museums dedicated exclusively to watercolor are created, in Llança, Caudete and Crevillente. Es grato formar parte del grandioso mundo de la acuarela, me he dado cuenta que sin duda alguna esta técnica tan maravillosa usada desde siglos ha venido a unir a muchos países y lo más impórtate a muchas generaciones. La acuarela utilizada como un medio de expresión, y la que más se acerca al color de la naturaleza, celebrar el día mundial de la acuarela es un tributo desde a los amateurs hasta los grandes maestros de la historia del arte. It is pleasant to be part of the great world of watercolor, I´ve realized that, without a doubt, this wonderful technique used for centuries has come to unite many countries and, most importantly, many generations. Watercolor used as a means of expression, and the one that comes closest to the color of nature, celebrating World Watercolor Day is a tribute from amateurs to the great masters of art history. IWS has been a fundamental part for this to continue through the years and as well for the great work that it has done as a team by being part of this great and beautiful family.

Es propicio que un país como Panamá que celebra ser un punto de encuentro multicultural, un crisol de razas, sea parte también de intercambios culturales de carácter artísticos, por tal razón. La IWS Panamá, se enorgullece sinceramente en formar parte de la red artística más importante del mundo, con presencia en tantos países, que se unen para celebrar el día mundial de la acuarela, la técnica de la luz. Sabemos que el arte es un idioma universal, y la acuarela nos une y sumerge a través de su lenguaje artístico, convirtiendo cada obra de arte en la voz del artista que representa a su país, y hacemos de la frase de la organización, todos unidos por un mensaje de amor y paz por medio del arte, el ejemplo vívido de armonía y comprensión que todos anhelamos alcanzar. Por eso Panamá, que en su mes de fiesta y celebración patriótica, como es el mes de noviembre, el mes de la patria, acoge con felicidad el día mundial de la acuarela como parte de su identidad artística, celebremos todos juntos el Día Mundial de la Acuarela.

It is propitious that a country like Panama that celebrates being a multicultural meeting point, a melting pot of races, is also part of cultural exchanges of an artistic nature, for this reason. The IWS Panama is sincerely proud to be part of the most important artistic network in the world, with a presence in so many countries, which come together to celebrate the world day of watercolor, the technique of light. We know that art is a universal language, and watercolor unites us and immerses us through its artistic language, turning each work of art into the voice of the artist who represents their country, and we make the phrase of the organization, all united for a message of love and peace through art, the vivid example of harmony and understanding that we all long to achieve. Iberoamerica commemorates the Second Edition of “Watercolor’s World Day” (Día Mundial de la Acuarela) We cordially call our artists to participate in the appealing contests programmed for our Online event.
