The Partnership acknowledges the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live, work and meet. We pay our respect to Elders past and present.
The Northern Adelaide Health & Wellbeing Partnership (the Partnership) was established in 2022, centred around a common purpose to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the Northern Adelaide region (the North).
The Partnership recognises multiple factors contribute to individual and community health and wellbeing and often lie outside the health system, spanning the social, economic and physical environment. This Charter reflects an agreement to foster collaboration between the Partners, committed to working together in taking action on the determinants of health.
The Partnership has identified five priority areas of economic growth and development, impactful research, education and career pathways, service access and connectivity solutions and the development of a health and wellbeing precinct.
To address these priority areas, the Partnership aims to deliver innovative opportunities for the whole Northern Adelaide community by leveraging the combined capabilities of our partners, collaborators and industry. The Partnership welcomes interest from entities who are committed to making Northern Adelaide a great place to live, work and play.
This Charter can only be varied or modified with the consent of the Partnership Executive Committee whose responsibility it is to ensure the Charter is reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
Our vision for the Northern Adelaide region is to create a flourishing and vibrant health and wellbeing community, accelerating economic growth through increased research, education, employment, health and wellbeing opportunities.
Our mission is to leverage our collective strengths and that of the community to drive real change in health outcomes through innovative and inclusive solutions that deliver sustainable impact.
We are driven by a shared belief in equity of access to quality healthcare, education and employment opportunities, and a recognition that when it comes to addressing complex health and social issues, ‘closer, we go further’.
To take bold, measured risks without fear of failure.
For the knowledge, experience and value each member brings to the partnership.

The Partnership is governed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that:
Describes the common understanding about the Partnership
Provides a mechanism for co-funding Partnership resources
Articulates the governance framework to support the delivery of the Partnership’s outcomes
The Partnership Executive Committee operates as the representative governance forum of the MOU, consistent with the respective terms of reference. The Committee’s purpose is to enable the shared vision and mission for the Partnership; to act as the connective tissue across the Partnership to effectively enable or activate the Partnership’s strategies; and to enable a highly collaborative approach to the development, growth and promotion of the Partnership at local, state, national and global levels.
The committee composition, chair and meeting frequency will be reviewed as per the Terms of Reference and/or as new parties join.
This Charter acknowledges the intention of the Parties to collaborate to undertake projects on topics of mutual interest without compromising their own identities and interests. The Parties agree that each collaborative project will be undertaken by a team that includes representation from two or more Parties and other personnel as required.
The Parties are, and operate as, separate entities within the Partnership. This Charter will not affect the independence, autonomy, or governance of each Party. Nothing in this Charter creates a relationship of principal and agent, employer and employee, or fiduciary and beneficiary. The Parties agree to work together collaboratively to advance the Partnership vision and mission and operationalise the priority areas on the terms set out in this Charter. Mutual respect for the responsibilities of each Party is essential to the effective functioning of the Charter.
Effective interagency collaboration requires commitment to working together and being open to partnership improvements, however, it is acknowledged disputes and disagreements are inevitable when working in a highly complex interagency context.
If a dispute or difference arises between the Partners, out of or in connection with this Charter, either partner may give the other a written notice specifying the dispute or difference. Within ten (10) Business Days of the date of the notice, a person holding a position of senior management of each Party must meet and undertake negotiations in good faith and on a without prejudice basis with a view to resolving the dispute or difference.
