shows on mysteries of the universe and space. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Rio lamented that Nagaland had not done very well in the field of science and technology in comparison with other States, but hoped that setting up of the state-of-the art centre would provide a platform to young and inquisitive minds to experiment and come up with “innovative solutions to basic problems and challenges.” The chief minister remarked, “These are not mere facilities but opportunities to introduce young

minds of Nagaland to a whole new level where their ideas would be moulded and they can transform their ideas into reality.” Stating by 2030 India would be among the top three nations in the field of science and technology, Rio explained that the challenge today was in ensuring that science and technology helped solve basic problems and meet aspirations of the people. “How do we build roads that don’t get washed away by rains? the legitimate chairman and president of NSCN/ GPRN despite the “failed coup attempt by handful of kilonsers, dy. kikonsers and middle ranking Naga Army officers” all belonging to Pangmi tribe. NSCN (K) alleged that the “renegades” at the instigation of Meitei underground groups and ULFA without acquiring even a quarter of the quorum arbitrarily imposed the impeachment, which it said was “unconstitutional, illegal and invalid and therefore stands nullified.” (Full text on p-6)

DIMAPUR, SEP 28 (NPN): Accusing Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD) of not following the State government policy of reserving 25% jobs for backward tribes of Eastern Nagaland in the department while make appointments, Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has given the department one month to rectify the anomaly. In a representation to NPWD by its president Sepili L Sangtam and general secretary Imtichoba Chang, ENSF also warned of initiating its own course of action, if the department failed to adopt necessary measures in this regard within the given time-frame. It demanded that the department should compensate all those denied posts from the total appointments made from September 4, 2015 till date.
