Vikheho inaugurates high school building at Asukiqa

(DIPR) DIMAPUR: High School building at Asukika was inaugurated on November 5 at Asukiqa ground with minister of Roads & Bridges, Y. Vikheho Swu as the chief guest and ADC Pughoboto Avelu Ruho as the guest of honour. According to DIPR report, the chief guest asked the citizens, teachers and particularly the students to maintain the infrastructure and make the best use of it. He asked the people of the area to change their mindset and think differently. He urged the citizens
to actively participate in tree plantation as it was not only for environment purification but as economic source in the long run. He also encouraged the public to start livestock rearing and farming and focus more on organic and quality products. Guest of honour, Avelu Ruho challenged the people not to glorify over the past glory but urged them to ponder seriously for the present and future generation with unity. She also asked them to avoid the culture of division
among them. We l c o m e a d d r e s s was delivered by chairman joint council Asukiqa Area Khuwoto Swu and 1st class contractor Vihoto Shohe respectively. Special number was presented by associate pastor Youth KBC, Jona Swu. Pastor, GBC, Rev. C.S. Kiheto invoked God’s blessing. AHM, GHS Asukiqa, Nagaholi Yeptho proposed vote of thanks while pastor TBC offered the benediction. Coordinator, EBRC Pughoboto Vihoto Sheqi chaired the programme.
Philimi to be tobacco-free zone DIMAPUR: Initiated by the Philimi Youth Front, a joint meeting was held with the Philimi Village Council, GBs and other leaders of the village on October 29 wherein the house resolved to declare Philimi as a tobacco free village. This was informed through a press note by president Philimi Youth Front, Huska Wotsa and chairman Philimi Village Council, Hokishe. In this regard, shopkeepers and citizens of the village have been given time till November 30 to remove all tobacco related products from the shelves and possession. DIMAPUR: All Nagaland school Teacher’s Association (ANSTA) has vehemently condemned the “irresponsible, absent minded and senseless act” of Khrovelhupe Koza, graduate teacher, whose false accusation resulted in the physical and mental torture of Shehuto Nakro, a class 11 student of GHSS Seikhazou Kohima. In a condemnation note, president ANSTA Ponchulo wanth and general secretary Visato Koso, while condemning the incident, reminded the teaching fraternity across the state to be very cautious and be a responsible and a respected teacher as expected in the society. The association urged the SDEO Chozuba who is the first information reporting officer to take necessary action oagainst the irresponsible G.T. and forward the action taken report to the Director School Education at the earliest. ANSTA further conveyed its prayer to Shehuto Nakro and wished him speedy recovery.

DIMAPUR: General public of Longleng district Tamlu sub-division in particular have extended full cooperation with NPF led DAN government under the dynamic leadership of T. R. Zeliang chief minister of Nagaland for full implementation of town council, municipal urban local bodies with 33% women reservation etc. A press note by Tamlu Town Public Organisation (TTPO) president, L. Shaupen Phome stated that, the ADC Hq Tamlu had not been effected in the recent 29 town council bodies, therefore, on behalf of Longleng district public it appealed the concerned authority to approve Tamlu ADC Hq in town council bodies under Longleng district. It also requested government that Namsang EAC Hq of Tamlu sub-division and Yachem EAC Hq under Longleng district should be included in UIDS/ULB as these administrative centres do not avail any RD funds for infrastructure developments.
