He said, “government teachers are well educated and well qualified but unfortunately the progress is not half of what private schools have produced.” The growth of students depends on the attitude, mindset and concern the teachers have for them, and teachers can show the students that they are leaders of tomorrow, he asserted.
LONDON, NOV 3 (AGENCIES): Hackers have gained access to private messages of nearly 120 million Facebook accounts and already published such messages from 81,000 accounts for generating money, the BBC reported. Several users whose details have been compromised were based in Ukraine and Russia but some were also from the UK, US, Brazil and elsewhere, the report said on Friday. “The hackers offered to sell access for 10 cents per account. However, their advert has since been taken offline,” it added. The breach was first discovered in September and the messages were reportedly obtained through unnamed rogue browser extensions. Facebook, however, said its systems were not breached as part of the hack. “We have contacted browser-makers to ensure that known malicious extensions are no longer available to download in their stores,” Guy Rose, Vice President of Product Management at Facebook, was quoted as saying.

Enrolment in the government schools is decreasing while the enrolment in private schools is increasing and this is a huge responsibility for the ANPSA, said the special guest. With the mushrooming of private schools in the state, Sukhalu reminded the gathering that educational institutions should not run only for profit making. The institutions have to ensure
all round development of the children and make them leaders of the state and country. While stating that children also needed extra-curricular activities and not only book knowledge, he urged school managements to create conducive environments for children to grow. Sukhalu also brought up a trend which is allegedly ongoing now in private schools. “One disturbing trend is that priority is given to good students only and transfer certificates are being issued to weak students,” he said. “If this is the case, I would like to request the management to look into it,” requested Sukhalu. He pointed out that certain groups of students have advantage over others. “Children from educated families and from poor families cannot be compared. Their exposure and mindsets are different” but these are factors that the teachers and management have to consider to bring out the best in students, he added.

NSCN (I-M) detains Army officer and jawans; alleges violation of CF
DIMAPUR, NOV 3 (NPN): MIP of NSCN (I-M) has revealed that a Lt.Col of the Indian army’s Signal regiment along with 16 personnel were detained and interrogated for about half an hour for violating Cease Fire Ground Rules by moving towards its Council Head Quarters Hebron on November 2 at around 4.30 p.m. According to MIP, the officer was identified as Lt.Col. Mohd. Zabiulla (Army No.64304) of Signal Regiment at Zakhama. It said the convoy was moving in four Gypsies on its way from Rangapahar to Jalukie by using the route towards CHQ Hebron. MIP said the column was stopped at the check gate near Hebron by Naga Army personnel, having been alerted about the movement of the Indian Army convoy. On interrogation, MIP said that the Officer (Cont’d on p-7) and personnel of the Signals
had claimed they had been following instructions given by passersby and had no idea that they were to cross the CHQ of the NSCN/GPRN. MIP wondered why the officer did not coordinate with various army units in and around Dimapur about taking which route. It pointed out that the Army convoy could have taken the Sukhovi village route where the Army had its training centre in order to connect Jalukie or the Niuland route used by public after landslide at NH 29 near Chumukedima. MIP termed the incident as a “total negligence on the part of the Indian Army” which led to trespass on a sensitive area such as the “doorstep of the CHQ of the GPRN.” It said the entire convoy was cautioned about their trespass and set free in good faith after the armymen “admitted their serious mistake”.
