The Jonas Brothers took a walk down memory lane and celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of their comeback song “Sucker”.

“Insane to think this time last year we had just officially shared the big news with you guys that we were releasing music together again. It’s incredible to reflect on how crazy supportive you guys have been all year,” the group, consisting of Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas, wrote alongside a collage on Instagram as Friday marked the 1-year anniversary of the release of the song, reports etonline.com.

“We really weren’t sure if anyone would love ‘Sucker’ the way we did, and to see all the ways this song and the others from #HappinessBegins, have been a part of your lives this past year is just... wow. We’re so grateful you guys keep coming back. We’re so happy to have the best fans in the world. We’re the lucky ones.”

Nick also posted photos from the “Sucker” music video, the first with his wife, Priyanka Chopra. “We’ve had so many ups and downs as a band & today as we’re all sitting here reflecting on the last year, we can’t help but realize how lucky we are,” the 27-year-old singer wrote. “We have the best fans in the world and we get to do all of this as a family?! Happy 1 Year to you guys and we love you all. Thank you!”

Joe also posted a video of himself and his brothers singing “When you look me in the eyes”, 10 days before their big return announcement.

“We were doing a little practicing for the NYC show at The Box we were planning to have on ‘Sucker’ release day,” he explained.

“I’m always amazed that these songs still hold so much magic for us and you guys. Thanks so much for everything this past year. Also update - S**t still together.”

Kevin also thanked their fans “for everything”. “Truly. We are all so grateful for this journey and thankful we have you guys to share it with. Here’s to another incredible year!!!” he added.

The music video of “Sucker”, the band’s first single together in six years, featured the singers’ wives -- Priyanka, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas.

Since then, the Jonas Brothers dropped their documentary, Chasing Happiness, released their album, Happiness Begins, and will soon be embarking on a Las Vegas residency.

Singer Christina Aguilera has shared that she has recorded new material for the upcoming live-action film “Mulan”. “The live-action ‘Mulan’ is coming out, by the way. You have to go see it,” she told the crowd during her show in Las Vegas earlier this week, reports etonline.com.

“I recorded a new ‘Reflection’, and new material for the movie. So, I’ve been working on that. But this is the original,” added the singer, whose song “Reflection” was featured in the 1998 animated Disney film.

In August last year, Aguilera was honoured as a Disney Legend during Disney Legends Ceremony at D23, which she began by singing “Reflection”.

“I auditioned with the song ‘Reflection’ and (it) coincided with getting my first record deal,” Aguilera had shared.

“And the fact that I sang ‘Reflection’, which jump-started everything, getting my foot in the door, it’s so cute and so amazing to look back and see the growth in your life, in your career and just in yourself. It’s just a great day.”

She also touched on the message in “Reflection”, saying: “It’s an important message that I promote…To live your truth, to show what you are inside, to be brave, to be a fighter… What defines you is who you are inside.”

The entire French academy had been forced to resign earlier this month amid fury that the veteran -- wanted in the US for the statutory rape of a 13-yearold girl in 1977 -- had topped the list of nominations.

Protesters chanting “Lock up Polanski!” tried to storm the theatre where the ceremony was being held before being pushed back by police firing tear gas.

And France’s Culture Minister Franck Riester had warned that giving the maker of “Rosemary’s Baby” a Cesar would be “symbolically bad given the stance we must take against sexual and sexist violence”.

But Polanski won two awards, best adapted screenplay and best director -- with the latter prompting Adele Haenel, who was nominated for best actress for “Portrait of a Lady on Fire”, to storm out, crying “Shame!”

Haenel has become a hero of the #MeToo movement in France after accusing the director of her first film, Christophe Ruggia, of sexually harassing her when she was only 12.

Polanski’s film also picked up best costume design.

“Distinguishing Polanski is spitting in the face of all victims,” Haenel had said in the run-up to the Cesars.

“It means raping women isn’t that bad.”

Polanski, 86, and the entire team of his historical drama had boycotted the ceremony, fearing a “public lynching”.

“An Officer and a Spy” is based on the Dreyfus affair which divided France in the late 19th century when a Jewish army officer was wrongly prosecuted for spying.

“What place can there be in such deplorable conditions for a film about the defence of truth, the fight for justice, (against) blind hate and anti-Semitism?” the director told AFP.

Polanski’s epic, which won two top prizes at the Venice film festival last year, was in the running in 12 categories at the Cesars.

But the big winner on the night was the Oscarnominated “Les Miserables”, set in one of France’s deprived and restive suburbs.

It took best film and three other prizes including the audience award.

It’s Mali-born director Ladj Ly made an appeal for unity on a highly fraught night, saying “our enemy is not the other, but poverty”.

“Papicha”, a touching story of Algerian women fighting for their freedom by Mounia Meddour, also fared well, winning both best first film and best female newcomer for actress Lyna Khoudri.

With the French film industry at war with itself over Polanski, Hollywood star Brad Pitt also snubbed the event having reportedly been offered an honorary award.

SÜMI BAPTIST AKUKUHOU A ctor Daniel Radcliffe continues to take up projects that give him chances to move away from Hogwarts. He has now opened up on why he won’t be reprising his role as the young wizard, Harry Potter, anytime soon.

Asked if he would return as Harry Potter in the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” films, Radcliffe told Variety: “I don’t think so. I don’t like to say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us. I’m happy to keep it that way.”

“I like what my life is now. I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now. And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance,” added the actor, who played the beloved character from 2001 to 2011. He will be soon seen in “Escape From Pretoria”, a true-life prison drama. In the film, Radcliffe plays Tim Jenkin, an anti-apartheid activist who was imprisoned in South Africa for distributing political pamphlets that were critical of the racist government. (IANS) A n e w d e e p - s e a creature has been named after Metallica, the band have announced.

The Macrostylis metallicola is a worm-like creature that lives in the Clarion Clipperton Zone off the coast of Hawaii, at depths where the pressure is 400 times greater than that of the earth’s atmosphere.

According to doctors Torben Riehl and Bart De Smet, who discovered the new creature, named it after the band due to specific details of their habitat.

“We’ve played on all seven continents, made it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now… we’re a crustacean!” the band wrote on Instagram to announce the news. “Senckenberg researcher Dr. Torben Riehl and Dr. Bart De Smet of Ghent University in Belgium have discovered a new crustacean species in the depths of the northern Pacifica Ocean and decided to name it after some rock band… Welcome to our world Macrostylis metallicola!

“The Thing That Should Not Be has a few things in common with us. The worm-like creature dwells in complete darkness, has no eyes, and is colorless. Talk about Blackened!

“It also lives amongst metallic nodules containing cobalt, copper, manganese, nickel, and rare-earth elements. So it basically lives in a rock stadium? Now that’s one metal crustacean!

“You just never know what you’ll find lurking beneath the sea.”

Metallica recently cancelled forthcoming live dates at Columbus’ Sonic Temple festival in May and Louisville’s Louder Than Life in September to aid frontman James Hetfield’s ongoing recovery from addiction.

The singer entered rehab in September 2019 to deal with his “struggles with addiction”. Last week (February 20), Hetfield gave his first public performance since entering rehab.
