DIMAPUR: Farmers training on organic farming was conducted on June 18 at Hebolimi village under Pughoboto Sub division.

According to DIPR report, Sub Divisional Agriculture Office (SDAO), Myanthung Patton encouraged the cluster farmers to rededicate to improve and enhance their organic production for self sufficiency and surplus market oriented.

He also mentioned that post pandemic people would face great challenge to progress and therefore urged the farmers to take it

NSRLM Wokha creates awareness on COVID-19 DIMAPUR: In an attempt to spread awareness on COVID-19 pandemic, Changpang Rural Development (RD) block Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) Wokha has been disseminating information to communities. A press release by the block informed that area coordinators also conducted virtual sessions to community cadres using online platform. These sessions included a live or recorded online awareness sessions on various topics.

DIMAPUR: As part of the ongoing crackdown to prevent illegal activities, troops of Assam Rifles on June 17 seized 58 cases of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) at Kushiabil, Dimapur.

A press release by PRO (defence) stated that based on specific intelligence troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and nabbed Tokiyo Sumi (24) resident of Kushiabil village, Dimapur district along with the liquor and Rs. 2, 20, 000 cash.

The apprehended individual along with seized liquor was handed over to East police station, Dimaas an opportunity.

The department also deliberated on PMKISAN on how to utilize the financial assistance to the farmers by the Government of India. The training was followed by distribution of tools and implementation to every household. Four held for extortion charge in Kohima

Unity college trains faculties on ‘use of ICT tools’

DIMAPUR: Two-day faculty programme on “use of ICT Tools in teaching and learning” was organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Unity College (UC) on June 18-19.

A press release by the college informed that the present COVID-19 pandemic and the changes it has brought about, especially in the teaching and learning environment, has made it vital for the teachers to know the basic ICT tools and use it effectively for online teaching and learning.

The release said the programme provided hands on training to the faculty members on different topics.
