LPG price hiked by Rs 2.71 per cylinder NEW DELHI, JUN 30 (PTI): Subsidized cooking gas price was hiked by Rs 2.71 per cylinder today as a result of tax impact of base price rising due to spurt in international rates and fall in rupee. Subsidised LPG with effect from midnight tonight will cost Rs 493.55 in Delhi, a statement issued by IOC said. “The increase is mainly on account of GST on revised price of Domestic Non-Subsidised LPG,” the statement said. “The balance Rs.52.79 (Rs.55.50 minus Rs.2.71) is being compensated to the customer by increase in subsidy transfer to their bank account. Accordingly, the subsidy transfer in customer’s bank account has been increased to Rs 257.74 per cylinder in July 2018 as against Rs 204.95 per cylinder in June 2018. Thus the domestic LPG customer is protected against the increase in international prices of LPG,” IOC stated.

ACAUT, PSAN react to ANSTA statement DIMAPUR, JUN 30 (NPN): Reacting to ANSTA seeking clarification on the writ petition, the ACAUT and PSAN Saturday said that W.P. (C) No. 145 (k)/17 was sub judice and asked ANSTA to seek clarification from the Court if needed be and not from them. PSAN and ACAUT through their media cell stated that they filed the writ petition against illegal and rampant backdoor appointments to 706 posts that fell under the purview of NPSC. They said clarified that ad hoc teachers were not in any way impleaded in the case field by them. Stating that the state government was the employer of ad hoc teachers and not ACAUT and PSAN, they said and it was proper to seek redressal from the government instead of raising questions against

ACAUT and PSAN for filing the writ petition, which needed no approval from any third party. They also said recruitment of teachers was done by school education department with their own conditions of service. ACAUT and PSAN, therefore, said it was upto the department/aggrieved party to seek alternative legal remedy, if so desired, as per law instead of a third party unnecessarily targeting ACAUT and PSAN. ACAUT and PSAN claimed that certain individuals and officials were trying to make them a scapegoat in the current imbroglio for their own vested interests. They also accused those individuals and officials of playing hide and seek with their employees despite there being remedial measures to tackle the issue, inside and outside the court. K Y M C
