NEW DELHI/IMPHAL, FEB 24 (NPN): In a clear indication of Cedntre’s take on arriving at a solution to the Naga political issue, nion minister of state for Home, Kiren Rijiju on Friday categorically pointed out that there can be no solution without consulting all stakeholders. Rijiu’s statement accentuates recent statement made by Union Home minister, Rajnath Singh that there has been no mention of “Manipur” in the Framework Agreement” signed between Government of India and NSCN (I-M) on August 3, 2015. “Without the consultations of all the stakeholders, final decision on Naga issue will not be taken,” Kiren Rijiju told mediapersons. “The interest of the NSCN (I-M) is not the interest of whole Naga. There are many stakeholders and without consulting them. Final agreement will be taken only when the entire stakeholder are consulted,”
Gov’s Sekrenyi, Shivratri greetings DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya has extended greetings to Angami community on the occasion of Sekrenyi, the festival of purification which normally falls on the 25th day of Angami month of “Kezei” (February 25). In his message, Acharya said that the ten-day festival is also called Phousanyi by Angamis, where days are spend on feasting and song. He hoped that through this festival, it will strengthen the bond of love and unity among the Angami community in particular and Nagas in general. Governor also greeted the Hindu community on the holy occasion of Maha Shivratri, which is also known as “the Great Night of Shiva”, celebrated annually in honour of Shiva. According to Acharya, the festival is observed by remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, doing Yoga and meditating on ethics and virtues such as self-restraint, honesty, no injury to others, forgiveness and the discovery of Shiva. On both the occasions, the Governor conveyed conveys his best wishes and hoped that the almighty God will continue to bestow abundant blessings upon the people of the State and country as well.

Certain elements trying to sabotage talks: NSCN (I-M) DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): NSCN (I-M) through its MIP has cautioned certain individuals that their “uninspiring campaign” to sabotage the peace talk with a new approach “Nagas of Nagaland” and “treacherous venom” to mislead the people by demanding the content of the framework agreement, would not deter the dedication of the true Nagas. Rather, NSCN (I-M) stand was that Naga people have hope that NSCN (I-M) will bring peace and honorable negotiated settlement of the Naga goals. It stated that when Prime Minister has reposed authenticity towards the Naga aspiration, people should have the spirit of “accommodative” to shoulder the destiny of the Nagas. However, despite appreciating NSCN, there were few
dogmatic writers who were “confrontational to Naga solution”, MIP said. Therefore, MIP urged the true Nagas to stop creating any logjam towards achieving the objective. It also asked those greedy people to refrain from such activities, when the Naga issue has entered a new remarkable stage and had gained momentum during the last few years. Further, MIP of NSCN (I-M) asserted that as majority of Naga people had democratically mandated in favor of Naga solution through numerous consultative meetings and write ups, the Naga people should realized that there can be no better platform to contemplate our actions towards our goal, since Government of India has also recognized the legal rights of the Nagas.
Centre to launch ‘Twitter Seva’ to reach citizens
NEW DELHI, FEB 24 (AGENCIES): The Union home ministry will soon launch its own ‘Twitter Seva’ forum to capture citizens’ grievances aired through various social media handles related to the ministries and have them addressed, where actionable, through its departments and divisions. The initiative will be on the lines of the successful ‘Twitter Seva’ interface being run by the ministry of external affairs to address complaints and grievances raised by resident and nonresident Indians relating to passport/visa and other foreign policy issues. According to a MHA official, the ministry will identify some keywords relating to public services rendered by its various departments as well as issues directly handled by the ministry. Each time a citizen tweets a grievance or complaint relating to the keyword, it will reflect on a central server within the home ministry. Where these grievances/complaints are found actionable, the department concerned will initiate process for their redressal and accordingly inform the complainant on Twitter.

Finance deptt responds to ACAUT DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): State finance department has reacted to the disclosure of ACAUT Nagaland that as per RTI documents the state government had Rs.5229.56 crore released by the Centre for 2015-16-17 parked in coffers as on December 7, 2016. In a press release, additional chief secretary & finance commissioner, Temjen Toy, admitted that ACAUT had filed an RTI application and the information sought was accordingly made available by the state government. However, Temjen Toy said it appeared that the information furnished by the government was “misunderstood” leading to “wrong conclusion” that the government had huge funds in its coffers owing to non-utilization of funds released by the centre. The finance commissioner while seeking to clarify the matter stated that the
central government releases funds from time to time as per the norms recommended by the finance commission. He said the state government takes into account all the funds receivable from all sources during a particular financial year and works out the estimates of receipts for the purpose of the state budget. According to finance commissioner, the main sources of receipts of the state government included the Post Devolution Revenue Gap Grant, State’s Share of Central Taxes, all other grants available under the Award of the Finance Commission, State’s Own Tax & Non-Tax Revenue, and the Borrowings of the State Government as permissible within the norms prescribed by the Finance Commission. Therefore, he said the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant (PDRDG)
and Grant for Disaster Relief as mentioned in the news item under reference have been incorporated in the state budget for the year 2015- 16 and 2016-17. To verify the correctness of this statement, the finance commissioner said page 2 of the “Explanatory Memorandum to the Budget” for the years 201516 and 2016-17 could be referred to. Similarly, he said the grants indicated for the year 2017-18 would also be incorporated in the budget for the year 2017-18. While Central grant against disaster relief was utilized specifically for disaster relief, Temjen Toy said the PDRDG and the state’s share of central taxes etc. were not tied to any specific programme/scheme but goes to finance the state’s expenditure as reflected in the budget of the respective year. Feb 2 arson: Govt. assesses damage to offices Campaign for Correspondent
KOHIMA, FEB 24 (NPN): An arson assessment has been launched by the state government after several crore worth of public properties were damaged on February 2. At least 30 offices of the government and NGOs were razed to the ground on the night of February 2 last when mobs torched the historic Old Secretariat Complex at Kohima. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Rajesh Soudararanjan, told Nagaland Post that on Friday a co-ordination meeting was held in DC’s conference hall with all the heads of offices under Kohima district and offices affected/damaged to discuss on how to accommodate and make temporary functional office. DC said functional office for the district offices would be arranged soon. According to the list made available to the DC office by the caretaker of the old secretariat complex, the 30 damaged offices in ‘A’ old MLA hostel (complex) included Nagaland State Electric-
ity Regulatory Commission, Nagaland State Transport (AGM), Nagaland State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission and Regional Transport Office Kohima. In ‘B’ old assembly secretariat (complex), the offices were Superintendent of Prohibition and Excise Kohima District, Kohima Municipal Council, World Bank Finance (project), Directorate of School Education (Text Book Section), Nagaland State Legal Information Cell and Nagaland Electrical Inspectorate. ‘Digi Dimapur’
DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): In a move to promote Digital India initiative and encourage cashless payments, the Dimapur district administration has decided to launch “Digi Dimapur” campaign. According to DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome, in the first phase district administration has adopted Thahekhu Village to make it first cashless village in Nagaland. District administration would also co-ordinate the activities with various agencies like banks and government offices to launch awareness campaigns and digital drives. Meanwhile, DC informed that all the government offices and utilities beginning with DC office Dimapur would also go cashless in a time bound manner. For those, who do not have bank account, the district administration will conduct a special account opening sessions and all bank account holders would be given ATM/Rupay cards and mobile banking facilities. In this regard, DC Dimapur has urged all citizens to actively participate in the “Digi Dimapur” campaign.

Minor killed, mother injured in mishap
DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): A minor boy died on the spot while the mother sustained grievous injury when a trucked rammed into a scooty on Friday morning at Burma Camp junction, Dimapur. Police said the mother, identified as one Shoba Gurung (35) was riding the scooty along with her son as the pillion rider identified as Reshab Gurung (2 year old), Traffic OC Zone-I, Mhathung Patton informed Nagaland Post. He said the truck (NL01G 0737) was seized and the driver apprehended. A case has been registered in this connection. The injured mother was rushed to Dimapur Civil hospital and the dead body kept at the morgue to conduct post-mortem, OC said. (Staff Reporter)
Earthquake jolts NE states
DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN/PTI): A medium intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale hit the North Eastern states including Nagaland on Friday. The epicenter of the quake was in Manipur’s Churachandrapur district. It struck at 5:32 p.m. at the depth of 20 km, according to the National Centre for Seismology, a unit of the ministry of earth sciences. There were no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property. Another earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale struck Sikkim at 3.9 a.m.
Total power shut down in Dimapur
DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): Department of power has informed there would be a total power shut down as jungle cutting/maintenance work under Dimapur Electrical Division would be carried out on February 25, 2017 from 5 a.m. till 10 a.m. In a press release, the Dimapur Electrical Division executive engineer Imsenkabe has requested group or individual wanting to cut/trim trees near their residence/ compound to do so during the stated period of time. The department has informed all responsible to note the timing of power shut down if any work was to be done.

DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): A candle light service in memory of late Khriesavizo Metha and late Bendangnungsang Lkr, who were killed in police firing on January 31, 2017, in Dimapur, would be held at Diphupar village ground, Dimapur on February 26, 2016 at 5pm. DIMAPUR, FEB 24 (NPN): Nagaland governor, PB Acharya, has expressed grief at the sudden demise of Dr Ashit Baran Choudhury, a prominent doctor of Dimapur and former state president of IMA Nagaland. In a condolence message to Mrs. Madhumita, the governor described late Dr. Choudhury as a sincere, dedicated and disciplined doctor, a humble human being and a renowned social worker. Acharya further said Dr. Choudhury worked cohesively to bring people together, adding that his demise was a great loss to the people of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general. Governor said his contributions would be remembered by all. Tikhir Students’ Union visit Taimephu servants to be in station DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel has asked all government servants posted in Mokokchung to remain station and be punctual in their offices. Addressing the monthly Mokokchung District planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting on Friday at the conference hall of ADC (Planning), Patel reminded all DPDB members and officers in the district to be punctual in office. He reiterated that all the officers who are to leave the station on duty or personal have to notify the DC. According to DIPR report, Patel said that the officers of district administration must maintain utmost punctuality in the office and asked others to follow suit. On the issue of maintaining good neighborly relation with the border areas of Assam-Nagaland, the DC said all efforts are being made at district level to ensure that peaceful atmosphere always prevail in the border areas with Assam. DIMAPUR: Department of Power, Nagaland has expressed regret for its inability to deliver electricity bills on time for the past few months. In a press note chief engineer (D&R) Er. G. Chishi, stated that situation have arisen due to the adoption of a new billing system (SAP) and smooth transitions from the old system to the new system, as envisaged, have not been possible, despite of the best efforts of all concerned which had affected the delivery of bills. Stating that the recent ban on Government offices had further prevented rectification in the system, he assured that the process to enable timely b i l l d e l ive r y i s u n d e r way expeditiously. Chishi further stated that consumers would receive electricity charges for a few months in a single bill therefore requested the consumers to bear with the inconvenience.

IMPHAL, Feb 24: Functioning of oil pumps are returning to normalcy even as UNC sponsored economic blockade is still going on the national highways in Manipur. Prices of the essential commodities are also reducing in the markets. Availability of almost all the essential commodities including petroleum products was severely hit owing to the prolonged imposition of economic blockade on the national highways by the United Naga Council (UNC). The blocked on National Highway 2 and 37 since November 1 last year resulted in price raise and shortages of food, fuel, life saving drugs and other essential supplies. The recovery comes even as an apex body of six rebel groups in Manipur has given a call for a “complete shutdown” in the state tomorrow to protest against Modi’s visit, saying it was aimed at “hoodwinking the people of Manipur”. Even the poor of Odisha have come together with the BJP,” Mr. Modi said at an election meeting in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. “Yesterday, Maharashtra gave its verdict and the Congress has been wiped off. Be it civic body polls in Odisha, Maharashtra, Chandigarh or panchayat polls in Gujarat, in three months wherever there were polls, whether BJP had any presence or not, people used their third eye and ensured its victory. Patna, Feb 24 (IANS) The Bihar Police on Friday arrested the state’s Staff Selection Commission Chairman from neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with a leakage of question papers, an official here said. Sudhir Kumar, a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who heads the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), was arrested along with four of his close relatives from Hazaribagh, the official added. A Special Investigation Team of the state police was interrogating Kumar and he would be brought to the Bihar capital later on Friday, an official at the state police headquarters said. Kumar was absconding since February 10, after the leak surfaced. Following this, the exam which

concrete evidence of his involvement. Following the arrest, an emergency meeting of Bihar IAS officials was held here, which was attended by dozens of bureaucrats. The SIT has also arrested the owner of a printing press in Ahmedabad in Gujarat, where the BSSC question papers were printed. During the interrogation of the owner, it was established that the papers were leaked from there ahead of the examinations, another police official said. The Bihar government had suspended BSSC Secretary Parmeshwar Ram, before he was also arrested earlier this week in connection with the case. More than 20 persons have so far been arrested in the case.

Uneasy calm
here are several points that find expression among the ‘political observers’ with regard to the present political affairs which had seen at least three serious political crisis -2014,2015 and 2017-which were about tussle for leadership of the ruling NPF. The din and dust of the recent public upheaval against the NPF-led DAN government over the issue of perceived threat posed on Article 371A by the government’s questionable and hasty decision to conduct elections to the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) with 33% women reservation appears to have subsided though not resolved. Two youths were killed and many injured on January 31; several buildings housing over two dozen offices were burned down and followed by nearly 20 days of shutdown of government offices and ban on movement of government registered vehicles. These were the losses which were precipitated by the worsening situation when the government rejected every public demand including the chief minister and others to step down by owning moral responsibility for whatever had happened. Side by side along with the public unrest and bandhs, political machinations also resurged for leadership change. It may be noted that the ruling NPF has been hounded by leadership crisis even in the past and in currency of the present legislative assembly, there has been three serious dissidence within the ruling NPF. In 2014 and 2015 the then chief minister T.R. Zeliang managed to come out victorious perhaps because he may have been underestimated. After the previous incumbent resigned as chief minister and amid public frustrated over the long spell of bandh; the stage was set for another politician to take over as chief minister. However in the third ‘political battle’ Zeliang had to vacate the chair and in the face of many claimants but who, individually, could not muster enough numbers; the mantle eventually fell on octogenarian and veteran regionalist Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsü. It may be pointed out that as per the constitution, Dr. Shürhozelie will have to become a member of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in order to continue beyond the six-month period as chief minister. It was after this swearing-in that a statement purportedly made by Dr Shürhozelie, managed to attract much attention. It was claimed that Dr. Shürhozelie said he had taken over temporarily and later hand over reins. It is not known if this was what was said but it certainly set the speculations afire. Now, if it is true, then the question is when would Dr. Shürhozelie hand over reins of power? The other is, whether the entire episode was only to deflect criticism and anger of the public and get over them with a temporary arrangement? By the look of it, the old wine in new bottle re-packaging is a very strategic and clever move. However such deft manoeuvre may not be wholly acceptable but there is a general tiredness among public who are living under a cloud of frustration at the way things are going. Like any illness, the symptoms are usually more visible than the cause itself. Perhaps that is why even today society is still grappling with the ailments of the past that were brushed under the carpet on whatever pretexts or pretence that today, these have developed into a potential recipe for continuing social unrest.

And Jesus has an interest in every individual person. We have no right in Christian service to be guided by our own interests and desires. In fact, this is one of the greatest tests of our relationship with Jesus Christ. The delight of sacrifice is that I lay down my life for my Friend, Jesus (see John 15:13). I don’t throw my life away, but I willingly and deliberately lay it down for Him and His interests in other people. And I do this for no cause or purpose of my own. Paul spent his life for only one purpose— that he might win people to Jesus Christ. Paul always attracted people to his Lord, but never to himself. He said, “I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22). When someone thinks that to develop a holy life he must always be alone with God, he is no longer of any use to others. This is like putting himself on a pedestal and isolating himself from the rest of society. Paul was a holy person, but wherever he went Jesus Christ was always allowed to help Himself to his life. Many of us are interested only in our own goals, and Jesus cannot help Himself to our lives. But if we are totally surrendered to Him, we have no goals of our own to serve. Paul said that he knew how to be a “doormat” without resenting it, because the motivation of his life was devotion to Jesus. We tend to be devoted, not to Jesus Christ, but to the things which allow us more spiritual freedom than total surrender to Him would allow. Freedom was not Paul’s motive at all. In fact, he stated, “I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren…” (Romans 9:3). Had Paul lost his ability to reason? Not at all! For someone who is in love, this is not an overstatement. And Paul was in love with Jesus Christ.

y handing over the rein of the government to Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsü, as the new chief minister of Nagaland, replacing incumbent T.R. Zeliang, the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) has tried to kill two birds with one stone. The 81-year-old Liezietsu is very popular Naga leader not only in his own state Nagaland, but the hilly areas of neighbouring Manipur also, which is called “South Nagalim” by Naga people, where elections are being held on 4th and 8th of March. The BJP, which has four MLAs in the state, and is the part of new ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), will also get benefits in Manipur elections, it is presumed, But whether the new CM of Nagaland Dr. Liezietsü, will also be playing any role in easing out the tension in Manipur, which is facing acute crisis due to the economic blockade imposed by UNC (United Naga Council) is being asked by observers. One of the MLAs of BJP, Paiwang Konyak, a leader of konyak naga tribe, has taken oath as Cabinet Minister in the Liezietsü led government. The other eight independent MLAs are also in the alliance. The Naga People’s Front (NPF) president and chief minister designate, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu in along with 11 Ministers administered the oath of office and secrecy by the governor, PB Acharya at a swearing in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Kohima today. NPF is the major constituent of DAN with 48 legislators in the 60-member Nagaland assembly that has no opposition. Naga People’s Front, the major partner of the Northeast Democratic Alliance, a grouping of non-Congress parties floated by the BJP, is contesting 15 assembly seats in Manipur polls in March.

The party, which has a support base in the Naga dominated areas of Manipur, and had made its electoral debut in Manipur by winning four out of 12 seats it contested in 2012 polls, has decided to go it alone in the state despite an alliance with BJP in Nagaland. If NPF wins in Manipur, it will certainly dampen the prospects of Congress Party, which was expecting to gain some seats in the hill areas after creation of seven new districts. The creation of new districts by ruling Congress led to economic blockade on two highways by the United Naga Council since November 1 last year. A number of Congress leaders in the Naga dominated areas have already switched their loyalty to BJP, boosting the party’s prospect in the upcoming election. The 81-year-old, one of the founding members of first regional party in Nagaland, and has a political career spanning over four decades since he was first elected to the state assembly in 1969 from northern Angami-I under Kohima district, is regarded as a most decorated educationists and eminent scholar in the Angami literature (the native language of the Angami tribe). An eight time MLA, Liezitsu has experience of holding different portfolios, including education and planning, will have to seek reelection within six months of taking charge as Nagaland’s 11th chief minister because he had refused to contest the last Assembly elections held in 2013, allowing his son Khriehu Liezietsu to contest the polls successfully. Khriehu, 51, might give up the Northern Angami-I to let his father be re-elected. Neiphiu Rio, former chief minister and Nagaland’s sole Lok Sabha member, was said to be a front-runner for the CM’s post. His camp had
allegedly herded more than 40 MLAs to a couple of resorts in Kaziranga, but his name was not considered citing a technical reason, that he was ousted from the party a year ago when he had tried to topple Zeliang government in 2015. The MLAs made their way back to Kohima only when it became clear that Zeliang was resigning in the “bigger interest of the state”.The Central leaders wanted former CM and Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio as the alternative candidate for chief minister, according to BJP sources. With the taking over of Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu as the new chief minister of Nagaland, the NPF is confident of improving its tally in the Manipur elections and may play crucial role in the next government formation in Manipur. Dr. Liezietsu, the President of the Naga People’s Front (NPF), had created history when he along with the then Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio had formally launched the NPF Manipur State Unit on 28th May, 2011 at Senapati district in Manipur. t is nothing new for anyone to hear or say that the ‘Naga Condition’ is infested with corruption in its many layers. Each element in the system interlinked and interdependent upon the next simultaneously thus sustaining the ever ignorant system where we Nagas perceive our lives in. But if the same system is functional in our society because of a few people sitting in the chairs with their less developed brains that compels them to think about their own survival instead of thinking about the greater good, making the Nagas a great community in this global world, then it is quite possible
for the people with more developed brains to support each other in overthrowing the corrupted and unjust irrational system in our society in order to make Nagaland a great state in the global level. But if we ever want to solve a problem then we have to understand it first so let us outlay the issues circulating in our society which actually are a threat to the very existence of the Naga race in the realist of reality. Unemployment in a humongous scale in Nagaland unlike in any other part of the world (perhaps mildly as those in some areas in the African subcon-
tinent) has paralyzed our economy, living standard and ultimately our personality in being a civilized millennial generations of this 21st century. It is surprising to accept how today the Nagas are surviving without any form of employment especially with the lack of or total nonexistent of the private firms because it is mediocre to assume that every qualified citizens would obtain govt. jobs after completing their studies. And what about those who doesn’t or have not acquired their academic qualifications? It’s not like even our own Nagas hire fellow Nagas for menial jobs when they have the
“experienced alternatives”. If this keeps on going and the wounds inflicted by the selfish authorities upon the society implodes, then ultimately in the coming years many Nagas would fall prey to depressions due to poverty which would lead to rise of a wrathful sinister society. Prostitution, gangs, black market mechanism etc and even suicides would engulf in the Naga society. In the end only the rich would be left and Nagaland would be occupied by the other people and thus the great Naga race would perish away from the face of the world. As we all know and have witnessed that
these symptoms are becoming more prominent in our society today. The central statistic confirms that about 20% of the Naga population lives below the poverty line and its number increasing every year which the state government denies just like how in the fiscal reports (submitted to the central govt.) Nagaland is a developed state with brilliant infrastructures and a surplus economy. To reveal the truth we don’t need to dig up all the files and report for evidence. Just look around us and the way the general people suffers even with Nagaland being one of the richest state govt. in India.
Nagas and their duty to God and their country This was clearly spelled out to us when Jesus taught us to pray –“Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Let us therefore not waste our times worrying about heaven and its problems but worry and tackle our worldly problems where others have invaded our land and have been ruling over us with all their heinous laws for all these years. As a nation, our duty on earth is to build a vibrant and independent Nagaland where there will be security and prosperity for all Nagas. Remember, we were born to rule (have dominion). It is never “Born to be ruled by others.” As for the present Indian puppet state of Nagaland, this state was never what God had purposed Nagas to live under. This state is but an Indian puppet state, created by some Naga collaborators who collaborated with Indians to make Nagaland a state under India. Today, this state of Nagaland is but a corruption ridden decaying jungle

It was also never created by God so that Manipur or Assam or Arunachal Pradesh can have a share of joint domination with the protection and authority of India. Such stupid notions harbored by Manipur, Assam or Arunachal Pradesh will be resisted with all Naga might and valor- if necessary, even in battle. Nagas want to have the best neighborly relations with all these neighbor states (including India and Burma) who are also nations in themselves. But Nagas have never been scared of these neighbors yesterday and neither will they ever be scared of them today. Also if Nagas are pushed beyond a certain degree of endurance, they can ally themselves with some other giant
neighbors who are related to them and face any challenge or threat from India or any of her puppet states. Naga resistance to any such foreign rule is therefore, Biblically right and legally justified and valid. On their part, Nagas owe it to God, their obligation to defend their God given national and geographical identities. Any Naga who acts contrary to this divine duty commits treason against both God and his nation. Our Naga Yehzabo spells out this duty in the following words: “And the authority of the people to be exercised on the territory is a sacred trust from God…” As bearers of God’s image and created to rule this earth as his representatives, we are not here on earth for a long holiday where we can yawn away our days doing nothing except to be fed by others. We are here to build ourselves a kingdom patterned after God’s own heavenly kingdom.
The truth is right before our eyes, right before the food we eat, right before the horrendous network of roads we travel in, right before our deprived civil rights and right before our crushing spirits. But no longer shall we be the slaves of this ignorant system. We may fail time and again, but we will not stop until the system in Nagaland becomes a meaningful system, a government that is rational and answerable to the people. May this truth set us free! Stalin met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a memorandum on the events that took place in Tamil Nadu assembly last week, he met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday and discussed the political situation in the state. “It was a courtesy call. He enquired about her (Sonia Gandhi) health and she enquired about party supremo Karunanidhi’s health condition. It was a formal discussion. Amit Kumar and the five women were arrested on Thursday from Delhi’s Nawada-Phase 5, police said identifying the five women, all in their early 20s, as Neha and Kamla from south-west Delhi’s Vikas Nagar area, Mamta and Pooja from Rajapuri locality and Poonam, of Palam Vihar. New Delhi, Feb 24 (PTI): A 27-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a case in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area where a SBI ATM had allegedly dispensed four notes of Rs 2,000 with “Children Bank Of India” written on them. Romil Baaniya, DCP (Southeast) said that the cash custodian was arrested today. “The accused was already identified yesterday and today we arrested him. He has been identified as 27-year-old Mohammed Isha, who is a resident of Sangam Vihar,” he said. Isha was the custodian of the cash at the time it was being placed in the ATM. He is an employee of Brinks India Pvt Ltd which is responsible for the task of placing cash in ATMs, said the officer.

Ghaziabad, Feb 24 (IANS): After arresting Mohit Goel, Director of Noidabased Ringing Bells Pvt Ltd, police said they were searching for four more directors of the company that launched the world`s cheapest smarphone. Goel was detained late on Thursday after an FIR was filed by Ghaziabadbased Ayam Enterprises, alleging that Ringing Bells defrauded it of Rs 16 lakh. “We are trying to arrest four other directors -- Anmol Goel, Dharna Garg (Mohil Goel`s wife), Ashok Chadha and Sumit Kumar -- named in the FIR,” Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil told IANS. As news of Goel`s arrest emerged, several other distributors reached the police station, describing their suffering at the hands of the company, the official said. In the FIR, Ayam En-

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE LATE DR. ASHIT BARAN CHOUDHURY I, on behalf of Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation, Dimapur convey my heartfelt grief at the unexpected demise of Late Dr. A. B. Choudhury. Late Dr. Choudhury was a man of versatile personality, who was endowed with many humane qualities. He was not only a renowned physician but also a dedicated social worker. He was a philanthropist, a linguist and possessed cultural traits. I fondly remember that he was a close associate of Late Manik Bhattacharjee and extended his utmost co-operation in all the humanitarian activities of Late Bhattacharjee, He was enthroned in the hearts of the people and his death has caused an irrepairable loss for all and sundry. L o nd o n , F e b 2 4 (IANS): Claudio Ranieri, who led Leicester City to the English Premier League title last season, has been sacked. “The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club’s greatest interest,” said a club statement on Thursday, reports Xinhua news agency. The 65-year-old Italian lost only three matches en route to the league champion last season. This season, Leicester has won just five league games. They have lost their past five league matches and are the only side in the top four English divisions without a league goal in 2017. Vice Chairman Aiyawatt said: “This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. “But we are dutybound to put the Club’s long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.”

Together we laughed, cried, played, studied, grew up and joined the service with same rank in the police department. You are not only my brother but also my best friend I have ever had. After the daylong duty, you always eagerly wait for my return to meet me which I still feel when I return home and remembering you in silent tears. Never ever thought destiny will separate us like this, but God's plan are much greater than us. God be with you till we meet again.

Pune, Feb 24 (Agencies): India suffered a horrendous batting collapse of seven wickets for 11 runs as they were bowled out by Australia for 105 on day two of the first Test, in Pune. Australian left-arm spinner Steve O’Keefe did the damage, grabbing a career-best 6-35, before the visitors then closed the day on 143-4, leading by 298. Skipper Steve Smith finished unbeaten on 59, though he was dropped three times earlier in his innings, on 23, 29 and 37. At the start of the day India still had one Australian first-innings wicket to take, and they got it with the fifth ball of the day - Mitchell Starc (61) out slog-sweeping to midwicket - to dismiss the tourists for 260. In reply, India lost three wickets before lunch, Josh Hazlewood (1-11) picking up Murali Vijay (10) caught
behind before Mitchell Starc (2-38) took two wickets in two balls. The left-armer first had Cheteshwar Pujara (six) gloving behind before taking the prized wicket of Indian captain Virat Kohli - driving loosly to first slip - for his first ever duck on home soil.
