Tatmadaw using NE rebels to attack refugees Ko lkata , A pr 1 7 (IANS): Myanmar military commanders posted along the borders of northeast India are using separatist rebels from the region to attack refugees fleeing the Pagoda Nation after the February 1 coup. Senior Indian intelligence officials told IANS the local Tatmadaw (military) commanders have struck a deal with Manipuri rebel groups, UNLF and PLA, to carry out such attacks. “This may not be national policy but a tactical move by local commanders desperate to stop refugee flow into India. Nagaland reports outbreak of ASF DIMAPUR, APR 17 (NPN): State Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services department has reported an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in the State of Nagaland. This was confirmed through RTPCR test by National Institute of High Security Animal Disease, Bhopal from the samples submitted from Phek and Kiphire districts a DIPR report stated. In this regard, the department has advised the public, pig farmers, pig traders, butchers, village functionaries, ward/colony members to remain cautious and vigilant and to report any unusual mortality of domestic pigs and feral pigs to the nearest Veterinary Institute and assist the department and Environment, Forest & Climate Change for Sero-surveillance, Control, Containment & Eradication as per the National Action Plan issued by Central government. 144 CrPC lifted in Jalukie area DIMAPUR, APR 17 (NPN): District Magistrate (DM) Peren Saturday lifted the prohibitory orders under Sec. 144 of the CrPC, which was imposed at Jalukie including specified areas under Jalukie subdivision on April 14. In an order, DM Peren Sentiwapang Aier stated that since the situation in Jalukie and the adjoining areas has normalized, the prohibitory orders have been withdrawn with immediate effect.

Bar association for early completion of High Court DIMAPUR, APR 17 (NPN): High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Kohima bench, in a letter to Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, expressed appreciation of the government for resolving to have a separate High Court for Nagaland and described it as “a milestone decision”. In the letter the HCBA Kohima Bench through its president A.Zho and assistant general secretary Joshua Sheqi, stated that a State was incomplete in the absence of the main three organs enshrined in the Constitution of India- the Executive, the Legislative

and the Judiciary. HCBA pointed out that the Circuit Bench in Kohima was established in December, 1972 and that the association will be celebrating the court’s Golden Jubilee in 2022. The HCBA therefore, urged upon the state government to “save the pride of the State and act on a war footing pace to have our own separate High Court”. It may be mentioned that the state cabinet during is meeting held on April 7 last approved the proposal of having separate High Court in the State.
