State gets over `4.5k cr investment proposals

DIMAPUR, APR 6 (NPN): Nagaland has received investment proposals worth over Rs 4,500 crore from both national and international business delegates during the three-day B20 event that concluded at the State Capital on Thursday. According to DIPR, the Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) meetings witnessed signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Nagaland and investors for investments in renewable energy to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore over the next three years. The B2B/B2G sessions also witnessed a substantial business interest with a potential investment to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore in bio fuels. around Rs 10 crore in the health sector. There were other business propositions to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore in agro and food processing, rubber, MSME, medical tourism, sports and IT sectors, which will further be explored and firmed up in due course. The State’s investment promotion Agency- Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN)- is to follow up and provide end-to-end facilitation to the potential investors in coordination with the business fraternity and line departments.

B20 delegates see potential in State’s culture, tourism

Staff Reporter: After conclusion of the B20 event at Kohima, delegates left the State on Thursday for their respective destinations. Nagaland Post interviewed some of the delegates, most of whom opined that the State had huge potential in the fields of culture and tourism. A delegate from Panama expressed happiness at the warm hospitality of the Nagas and stressed that Nagas should be really proud of their culture and heritage. Peace is prerequisite for all round development: Rio

NEW DELHI, APR 6 (NPN): The Central government on Thursday extended the ceasefire agreement with three NSCN factions for another year. In a statement, the union home ministry said the ceasefire agreements are in operation between the government of India and the GPRN/NSCN, NSCN (R) and NSCN/K-Khango. “It was decided to extend the ceasefire agreements for a further period of one year with effect from April 28, 2023 to April 27, 2024 with NSCN/NK and NSCN/R and from April 18, 2023 to April 17, 2024 with NSCN/K-Khango. These agreements were signed on April 6, 2023,” it said. DIMAPUR, APR 6 (NPN): India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) has evinced keen interest to buy bamboo pulp from the 700-acre bamboo plantation at Tuli and explore avenues to revive Tuli paper mill (NPPCL).

projects and initiatives between the Bangladesh and Nagaland and work towards reducing trade barriers and improving market access for each other’s goods and services. It was also agreed to hold periodic meetings to review the progress of the MoU and identify new areas of cooperation. According to BAN media cell, Ahmad reiterated the support of Bangladeshi government for import and export of agro-based and other resources for mutual benefit and also suggested a direct flight between Sylhet and Dimapur. He said that Prime Ministers of Japan and India had agreed to make use of Matarbari deep sea port in Bangladesh at the earliest.

He urged the Government of Nagaland to be the first among the North-eastern States to officially declare to use the deep sea port in line with the Government of India’s policy and in the interest of the State. Taking note of the dominance of Bangladesh in textile sector, Mongkum requested IBCCI to start initiatives in the textile sector in Nagaland. Power outage in 4 districts DIMAPUR, APR 6 (NPN): In view of the vegetation clearance of 132kV and 66kV Transmission Lines under Transmission division Mokokchung, Power department has informed that there would be total power shutdown in parts of four districts-- Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Longleng and Mon, daily from April 10-15 between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In a press note, executive engineer Er. Hekaito Assumi said that this exercise was necessitated with the aim to provide stable power supply and avoid unwarranted disruption of supply. As per the schedule, areas under 66kV TuliN/Mora, 66kV N/Mora-Tizit, 66kV Tizit-Mon Transmission Line (Tuli sub-division, Longleng & Mon districts) will face power outage from April 10 to 15; 132kV Mokokchung-Doyang transmission Line April 17 to 12; 66kV Mokokchung- Zunheboto transmission line (Zunheboto district) April 24-29; 66kV Mokokchung-Tuensang transmission line (Tuensang district) May 1-16 and 132kV Mokokchung-Mariani transmission line from May 8-15.
