Let’s do our part to ensure that NAFA has a bright future

“A goal properly set is halfway reached” – Zig Ziglar I am honored and humbled to serve as the 2016-2017 NAFA President. I know the responsibilities and challenges ahead will be great. It will not be possible for me to succeed without your support, and I thank you in advance for your assistance. I’d also like to thank Jeron Downing for doing such an outstanding job as NAFA’s 2015-2016 President. It is my wish that I can add value and continue the forward momentum that Jeron and other past presidents have provided.

This has been the first year under our new management team, AMPED Association Management, led by NAFA Executive Director Michelle Czosek. I would like to extend my thanks to our entire staff team, consisting of Michelle, Terry Driscoll, Lynda Patterson and Amanda Safa, for doing such a fine job.

I became a NAFA member 22 years ago because Tom Riddell, a direct competitor of mine, asked me to join. I had been in the filter business for 16 years before joining, and was always feeling that someone else was doing things better than I was. I knew Tom had a successful company and I felt like NAFA played a part in his success. Never underestimate the power of a group of people coming together for a common purpose. NAFA has an abundance of knowledge, diversification and talent. Tom’s invitation gave me an opportunity to learn from others. And all it took was someone like Tom to ask.

I believe that there are quite a few filter companies out there who are not NAFA members, but who could benefit from membership and might become a member if they were just asked by someone.

I’ve met many people through my involvement with NAFA. Some of whom I have developed great friendships with. In fact, my company has made three acquisitions that are a direct result of meeting company owners at NAFA conferences. Looking back, my only regret is that I didn’t get more involved right away.

A lot of time and hard work went into this effort, led

by Harry Allen. We have clear, written and obtainable goals, a road map to follow, for the next several years.

Zig Ziglar says, “A goal properly set is halfway reached”.

So, we are already halfway to reaching our goals.

We have a solid board of directors, slate of officers and committees that I look forward to serving with.

What we need is more participation at the committee level. We have dedicated committee chairs who work hard behind the scenes toward the goals that have been set. I challenge each of you at our next technical seminar or annual convention to find a committee that interests you and become an active participant. Your opinion matters and this is the place to offer it. You’ll also get acquainted with a group of peers that you might not otherwise have the opportunity to connect with.

I believe one of our chief goals should be to preserve our association for future generations. I believe that NAFA is an investment in our future that will continue to pay big dividends. Our future will always be bright when we stay focused, optimistic and confident.

To quote Warren Buffett: “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago.”

I think Joe Reed, Bob Bates and others who founded NAFA, would be proud of the tree that they planted some 36 years ago. Let’s do our part to ensure that NAFA has a bright future. ■

Change in ASHRAE 62.2 introduces market opportunity for efficient filters

Introduction

Where virtually no market existed a decade ago, the burgeoning practice of building tight, energy efficient homes has created a new market for outdoor air ventilation systems to provide minimum acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ).

Though likely none of us grew up in a house with an outdoor ventilation system, all new dwelling units built to the requirements of the 2012 or later version of the International Residential Code (IRC) now require an outdoor air ventilation system, also known as a “whole house mechanical ventilation” or “dwelling unit ventilation” system. While outdoor air systems and local exhaust systems form the backbone of the model code’s strategy to provide acceptable IAQ in single family and multifamily dwelling units, efficient filtration of indoor air has been largely overlooked as an IAQ strategy.

The International Mechanical Code (IMC), applicable to many multifamily dwelling units, specifically exempts any air filters installed in dwelling units from listing or labeling requirements (605.2).

The IRC, generally applicable to single family units and town-homes, does not even mention air filters. Above-code

programs have been more aggressive at recognizing the importance of filters in providing IAQ but they represent a small share of the total market. LEED v4 BD+C, applicable to high rise dwelling units, incentivizes participants to install ≥ MERV 13 or equivalent filters in outdoor air systems but is silent on recirculation air handlers (EQ Credit: Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies). LEED v4 for Homes, applicable to single family and multifamily dwelling units, requires ≥ MERV 8 or equivalent on ducted recirculating space conditioning systems and ≥ MERV 6 on “mechanically supplied outdoor air for systems with 10 feet of ductwork or more” (EQ Prerequisite: Air Filtering); no incentives are provided for installing higher performance filters.

General lack of traction for efficient filters in codes and above code programs can partially be attributed to their treatment within ASHRAE 62.2, which serves as a precedent for IAQ measures in other construction rule sets. Outdoor air and exhaust requirements for dwelling units complying with the IRC, IMC, and LEED can all be traced back to ASHRAE 62.2, as can LEED v4 for homes’ filtration requirement for outdoor air.

Prior to 2016 addendum k, ASHRAE 62.2’s treatment of filtration was confined to mandating filters for the purpose of protecting ducted heating and cooling equipment from fouling or becoming a source of pollutants. With only minor modifications over the past several iterations, ASHRAE 62.2’s filtration efficiency language still reads: “6.7 Minimum Filtration. Mechanical systems that supply air to an occupiable space through ductwork exceeding 10 ft (3 m) in length and through a thermal conditioning component, except evaporative coolers, shall be provided with a filter having a designated minimum efficiency of MERV 6 or better when tested in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 52.2… or a minimum Particle Size Efficiency of 50% in the 3.0 to 10 μm range in accordance with AHRI Standard 680... The system shall be designed such that all recirculated and mechanically supplied outdoor air is filtered before passing through the thermal conditioning components.”

New 62.2-2016 incentive for high efficiency filters

With the publication of addendum k to ASHRAE 62.2-2016 in June of 2016, ASHRAE 62.2 now recognizes and incentivizes the role of high efficiency filtration in improving a dwelling unit’s IAQ. Addendum k introduces a new Section 4.1.4 called “Ventilationrate Reduction for Particle Filtration.”

This optional section permits users to reduce the total ventilation rate by 20% when using a high-efficiency filter in a recirculated air distribution system

that meets some minimum criteria. The concept of trading off outdoor air for filtered air was a subject of extensive debate within the committee, but ultimately, the committee voted in favor of this motion based on research1 that pegged PM2.5 as the primary pollutant of concern in dwelling units. Because outdoor PM2.5 levels vary based on location and proximity to transportation corridors, the most fail-proof means of reducing PM2.5 exposure across all dwelling units is filtration of indoor air.

While not mandatory, Section 4.1.4 can

be especially attractive to users of the standard located in hot-humid climate zones, where practitioners have voiced concerns about potentially negative effects of high outdoor air ventilation rates, such as energy costs and an increase in indoor air humidity.

Achieving compliance with Section 4.1.4 involves three components: distribution, an efficiency designation called the “filtration factor,” and a timeaveraged airflow rate. From a distribution perspective, the filtered air is required to be “supplied to or returned from all

rooms in the habitable space through air handling systems.” Most centrally ducted HVAC systems will comply. The filtration factor is 62.2’s method of normalizing filter efficiency across test methods. The higher the filtration factor, the lower the efficiency.

The maximum filtration factor permitted for compliance with the section is 4.3, corresponding to a MERV 11 filter. Table 2 provides a summary of filtration factors for filters tested to different protocols.

Working through a quick example, let’s suppose the total fresh air ventilation rate required, Qtot, is 80 cfm. The builder could reduce this total ventilation rate by 20% (i.e., to Qtot = 64 cfm) if complying with Section 4.1.4. To achieve this, the builder first installs a fully ducted HVAC system (which was likely already standard practice). Now, suppose the builder installs a MERV 12 filter in the unit. From Table 2 (i.e., 62.2-2016 Table 4.3), the filtration factor for this filter, f fr, is 3. The minimum time-averaged recirculation air flow rate across the filter required to reduce Qtot to 64 cfm is calculated as Q fr = 3∙80 = 240 cfm. Let’s further suppose the air handler is a single speed unit that moves 1200 cfm. Over the course of a day, the fan would need to operate a total of 4.8 hours (240/1200*24). During heating or cooling seasons, this run time might be achieved by the fan operation for heating or cooling cycles. If not, controls must be provided to ensure that the minimum run time is achieved on a daily basis.

Additionally, Section 4.1.4.3 requires at least 10% of Q fr to be provided in each 12hour period.

Addendum k permits the user to take credit for the reduction in flow rate “during any period in which the requirements… are met.” In other words, a smart thermostat and outdoor air ventilation controller could theoretically modulate the ventilation flow rate on an hourly basis (or any time period selected).

Hypothetically, if a dwelling unit’s HVAC system is right-sized and a smart control is configured to only take filtration credit when the air handler achieves the required recirculation run time based on heating or cooling cycles alone (i.e., no additional

run time for filtration of recirculated air), this configuration would reduce the energy penalty associated with outdoor air ventilation during those times when it is most beneficial (i.e., the hottest and coldest days of the year). Who says you can’t have IAQ and energy savings too?

Of course, taking the credit without the use of intelligent controls (e.g., setting the fan to run continuously or not accounting for differences in flow rates associated with variable speed operation) could result in tremendous energy penalties. For example, a central air handling unit that operates at 0.58 W/cfm (the minimum performance permitted in California) would cost ~$700 to run continuously on an annual basis (assuming $0.10/kWh, 3-ton equipment, 400 cfm/ton).

This would be welcomed by many builders in the south looking for ways to reduce their outdoor ventilation rates or for energy efficiency advocates who would like to see the credit implemented intelligently to reduce ventilation energy consumption without compromising IAQ. But that’s work for another day. ■

What’s next?

Unless referenced by another code or above-code program, this change in 62.2 will just remain an obscure, academic curiosity. But as proven out with whole house mechanical ventilation requirements, obscure references in 62.2 can be the mustard seeds that yield mountainous market transformation.

Through U.S. DOE’s weatherization program, roughly 100,000 existing dwelling units are brought into compliance with 62.2 annually. Based on historic precedent, DOE’s weatherization program will likely transition to 62.2-2016 within the next 18 months. California is expected to adopt 62.2-2016 in their 2019 version of Title 24, so they will likely be the first statewide new home test market for addendum k beginning in 2020. And in case you missed it, California Title 20 now requires air filters manufactured on or after July 1, 2016, to be labeled with their efficiency and pressure drop as a function of airflow, so assuming addendum k is adopted in CA, practitioners will literally have the required filtration efficiency information at their fingertips. The greatest opportunity for market transformation would be an industry-backed proposal to amend the model codes (i.e., the IRC and IMC) to include a filtration trade-off against the whole house mechanical ventilation rate.

A reception and banquet were held on the grounds of the hotel to welcome NAFA members and guests.

Bestseller list and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize; and Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson, which was published in September 2014. It was also a New York Times Bestseller and was named a finalist for both the prestigious National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pen Literary Award for Biography. His new book, The Perfect Pass: American Genius and the Reinvention of Football, will be published in the near future.

Sam has a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University and a master’s degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the acclaimed novelist John Barth. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, the artist Katie Maratta.

The presentation was based on Gwynne’s 2014 book Rebel Yell: the Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson, and explained the meaning of Jackson in the war and in American history.

These experts provided first person insight of the historical and recent mergers and acquisitions in the air filtration industry. The air filtration industry is an active and growing market segment with a total of 162 mergers and acquisitions from 2012 to 2015. This activity is propelled by the global growing market with constant innovation that is the air filtration industry.

ISO 16890 – the New Global Air Filter Test Standard?

Dr. Anja Coenen Freudenberg Filtration Technologies, Inc. Dr. Anja Coenen is the Filter Engineering Manager for Freudenberg Filtration Technologies North America. Before coming to the US, Anja was employed at Freudenberg in Germany as Application Engineer focusing on Indoor Air Quality Control. Anja has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia, where she developed materials to increase the efficiency of CO2 adsorption for carbon capture and sequestration.

In this presentation, Dr. Coenen reviewed the new ISO 16890 air filter test standard, which is expected to be published at the end of 2016. Test methodology and rating system was compared to the ASHRAE 52.2 standard, and the

advantage of the new ISO16890 standard was discussed. Attendees left with an understanding of: • how air filter efficiency is measured according to ISO 16890.

• how ISO 16890 utilizes globally accepted particulate matter classifications PM1, PM2, and PM10 to characterize filter efficiency.

• how electrostatic discharge can affect the rating of a filter.

The creation of “Technical Modules” was discussed with a plan in place for implementation. The Filter Advisor, an Education & Training committee project launched it’s first issue July 2016. The committee is always looking for topical articles to include in future issues of the NAFA newsletter.

Marketing & Membership The Marketing and Membership committee is continuing to explore new ways to drive NAFA’s growth. Most notably, the committee is supporting NAFA staff in the development of an integrated marketing plan that will explore new ways to find, cultivate and convert potential new members. Be on the lookout for more news about the plan in 2017.

Guidelines The Committee is pleased to announce that the Airborne Infections Containment Rooms in Health Care Facilities is complete and published.

A Residential Guideline draft is completed. Continuing Care Retirement Communities outline reviewed and the first draft will be available at TECH2017.

Technical & Certification The Technical Committee continues the difficult task of converting the NAFA Guide to Air Filtration into Spanish. Also, the committee recently reviewed the NAFA 52.2 MERV brochure to determine if updates were required for the enhancements made by ASHRAE. Only a few minor modifications were deemed necessary. The Technical Committee continues to review and evaluate the certification exam questions for relevant content and accuracy in order to adequately demonstrate students’ competency on the subject matter. Finally, the committee continues to review new guidelines submitted by the Guidelines Committee. themselves so hard they risk death. We’ve heard our whole lives quotes like, “ The harder you work, the luckier you get!”

Benefits and Challenges of Particle Filtration and Air Cleaning Jeffrey Siegel, Ph.D. University of Toronto Jeffrey Siegel, Ph.D., is Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto and a member of the university’s Building Engineering Research Group.

He also holds appointments in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences. His research interests including healthy and sustainable buildings, ventilation and indoor air quality in residential and commercial buildings, primary and secondary impacts from the use of filters and air cleaners, the indoor microbiome, and moisture interactions with indoor chemistry and biology. Dr. Siegel is an active member of ISIAQ and ASHRAE and is an associate editor for the journal Building and Environment. He is a fellow of the ISIAQ Academy. He teaches courses in indoor air quality, sustainable buildings, and sustainable energy systems.

Prior to his position at the University of Toronto, Dr. Siegel was an Associate

Professor at the University of Texas. He holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2002).

Filtration and/or air cleaning are broadly applied to reduce contaminant concentrations in many buildings.

Although diverse in underlying technology, mode of application, target contaminants, and effectiveness, there are also commonalities in the framework for understanding their primary impact (i.e. concentration reductions) and secondary impacts (e.g. energy use and by-product production). Furthermore, both primary and secondary impacts are moderated by the specific indoor context in which an air cleaner is used. This presentation explored the dynamics of removal efficiency in a variety of air cleaners and examined performance in the context of real indoor environments and HVAC systems. This allows for the direct comparison to other indoor pollutant loss mechanisms (e.g., ventilation) and further suggests that effective air cleaner use is context and contaminant specific. NAFA awards banquet Jeron Downing thanked members of the Board of Directors and awarded Tom Justice, CAFS, NCT and Ruben Cespedes, CAFS the NAFA Distinguished Service award. The award is given to those individuals who, by their efforts, promote NAFA through their participation on Committees, contribute articles to Air Media or write or rewrite NAFA texts, give presentations to or on behalf of NAFA, or generally doing work that promotes the air filter industry while being a member of NAFA. Although Tom was unable to accept his award, we congratulate both valued NAFA members for their achievements!

Jeron then passed the presidency to Timmy Lott, CAFS, NCT II of Pure Air Filter Sales & Service. Timmy inspired those at the banquet to look forward to NAFA in 2017 - 2018. You can see Timmy’s vision for NAFA in his first President’s Message on page 2.

She is excited about her future and feels the NAFA Scholarship will help her in her goal of working in the medical field. Her love for children is what drives her goal of becoming a pediatric nurse.

Grace, an early riser, often awake before friends and family, dedicates her mornings to the swim team. She never accepts failure as an option and has learned to be a leader to others and put the needs of teammates before her own. She is a Red Cross certified lifeguard and volunteers teaching children to swim. Grace knows it’s an arduous road to becoming a physical therapist and feels her volunteerism, participation on team sports and strict work ethic has helped teach the dedication needed to succeed in college.

She plans to continue to be a student athlete and leader at Misericordia University to achieve her dream of a doctorate in physical therapy.

Charlie is the second of his four siblings to head off to college and wants to work in the field of chemistry to help solve the energy crisis. Charlie has saved money since a young age in order to pursue a college education.

NAFA announces 30 Clean Air Award recipients for 2016 The National Air Filtration Association has announced its recipients of the Clean Air Awards for 2016. The Clean Air Award is presented each year to the building owners and managers who take steps to significantly improve the quality of their indoor air by increasing the level of efficiency of their HVAC air filtration system in 10 specific categories.

Candidates are nominated for the award by both NAFA members and members of the facility management community, and must submit detailed and specific steps taken toward cleaning the indoor environment through “best air filtration practices” and system hygiene. A NAFA Certified Air Filter Specialist confirms these improvements. Nominees are judged by the NAFA Clean Air Award Committee and each recipient receives a custom-designed award, building signage and recognition for their efforts.

Award-winning buildings must maintain IAQ diligence and submit inspection data each year in order to maintain the NAFA Clean Air Award.

NAFA News Michael White, CAFS “I got sober December 16th of 1995… I had to go through a lot to get there, but that’s the whole reason that I do anything that we do… It ensures my sobriety… It helps me stay sober. So the more I help other people – the more I stay sober – and the more I hold people accountable for helping other people.” – Micheal White Michael Troy White passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Latanya White and children, TaHondra Johnson, Teresa Walker and Maya White.

Many NAFA members know that Michael White was a astute and savvy businessman as well as a friendly face around NAFA conventions. Most did not know Michael struggled with addiction. In 2000, after five years of sobriety, White started the furnace and air conditioning filter company, America’s Finest Filters (AFF), from the bedroom of his home. Today the company employs 21 people and operates out of a 48,000 sq ft. facility. The annual sales for AFF are well into the millions.

Never forgetting his roots, White co-founded a sober living home called, Our Father’s House, with another recovering addict, Darryl Wells in 2003. The recovery centers began with two small buildings holding 10-12 men, but have now grown to seven buildings that house 74 men.

Michael was very hands-on with the recovery program. His air filter business, AFF, employs several recovering addicts that have gained sobriety through Our Father’s House. AFF is also the primary financial sponsor of the recovery center.

Micheal White will be missed by NAFA and the many Louisville residents he has helped over the years. ■ I have known Michael for several years through business. I will miss seeing him at the NAFA meetings and feel blessed to have known him.

UL 900 update

The first edition of the UL 900 Standard for air filter units was issued back in September 1965 and has evolved over the years to the most recent designation as an American National Standard (ANSI) which occurred on February 14, 2012; ANSI/UL 900. It currently consists of the Eighth Edition dated April 21, 2015.

Most of us in the filter industry have been involved at some time or another with the UL 900 standard and anyone in the industry for more than a year has certainly developed a definite opinion on this subject. For those new to the industry, the standard covers the requirements to determine “the amount of smoke generated and the combustibility of air filter units of both washable and throwaway types used for removal of dust and other airborne particles….”. Smoke generation of an air filter unit is dependent upon the type and quantity of material collected on the filter during a specific service life, hence “the test requirements of this standard, for classification purposes, apply only to air filter units in a clean condition.” Following the clean state “it is intended that maintenance and inspection practices should be followed as proposed in Appendix B of NFPA 90A”. 1 The fact that we classify clean filters, which are only really clean for a brief time during the service life, has always been a point of contention for fabricators. However looking past this, the Certified Air Filter Specialists (CAFS) have an obligation to understand the requirements of NFPA 90A and insure that their customers remain in compliance. Since it’s inception, UL 900 has been incorporated into building codes throughout North America becoming a part of the legal landscape. In any litigious environment the end user sees the knowledgeable professional as adding value to the products they purchase.

Like any number of standards, UL 900 provides a uniform test protocol. What gives UL 900 its teeth is the listing and follow-up program. When a manufacturer choses to list a product with UL, they are given a file number. Then the product is tested in accordance with UL 900 and must meet the following requirements: • No flame beyond the end of the test duct.

• Less than 25 sparks sustained beyond the end of the test duct.

• Less than 9 square inches of smoke measured below the smoke density time curve.

Once a product is listed, it is incorporated into the follow-up service for quarterly inspections at each manufacturing location.

This is where the standard gets its teeth. The inspection compares current production to the UL file, looking for any variations in both process and materials. The material designation along with the supplier and amount of material used must match with what is on file. The inspector may go so far as to check the calibration of any instruments used for measurements.

The standard has seen numerous changes as noted by the fact that it is now in its eight revision, however the most notable change was the removal of references to Class I and Class II. Comments or proposals for changes or revisions to the standard

are most often solicited from the Standards Technical Panel (STP), which is made up of consumers, manufacturers, supply chain, general interest, etc. however proposals may be submitted by groups or individuals via a Proposal Request in UL’s On-Line Collaborative Standards Development System (CSDS) at http:// csds.ul.com.

As with any standards document, changes are a necessity if the standard is to remain a viable document in step with changing requirements. This demands the active involvement of a standing standards committee made up of a broad cross section of the industry from manufacturers to users. It is difficult to imagine that any standard could remain an active document for more than 20 years without such input. While UL 900 has seen numerous changes there are still a number of issues, which call for resolution.

• Is the current standard at odds with new sustainability requirements and initiatives, specifically for recycled, compostable and biodegradable products? Which requirement takes precedence, the acute or the chronic threat? And more often than not recycled products are the creation of numerous untraceable sources and may be compounded or blended in varying quantities. UL is very specific in traceability as well as composition and usage which makes variable sourcing impossible.

• As companies are forced to compete globally, they are faced with numerous and non-uniform fire code requirements dependent on the geographic locale. In Europe the most common standard is DIN53438. Related to this are DIN4102 and EN13501. And very different is the French fire classification NF P92-507 for construction materials.

However we have only to look across our own border to note the impact of non-uniformity. When the U.S. removed references to Class I and Class II, Canada did not follow suit, choosing instead to retain the old system.

• While uniformity is an issue in itself, there has to my knowledge never been a scientific comparison made as to the stringency of these various international requirements and which requirements provide adequate protection. My favorite comment came while researching this article and is one which points to these differences. After numerous e-mails with one colleague, he finally retorted, “Why are you Yanks so concerned about smoke and flame?”

• And last but not least there has been a definite outcry from fabricators that the test is inconsistent, e.g. “a product passes but then fails on the annual follow up service. What we don’t know without further research is whether the variation is in the test or in the raw material components of the filter.

These issues affect all of us in the supply chain in some fashion or another. As we can drive for answers to these issues it is difficult to imagine any organization better positioned to pull the stakeholders together than NAFA. ■

Technology Corner Powered by Permatron Corporation Protecting HVAC Equipment Made Easy HVAC mechanical systems present a variety of challenges to facilities managers and probably cost more than any other item in the facilities budget. Representing a high percentage of capital costs and operating expenses in repairs, replacements and energy costs, an HVAC system generates an estimated 25 percent of the total energy use in commercial and institutional buildings. Large energy-using systems translate into significant annual savings or losses because they play a critical roll in keeping occupants, data and production processes comfortable and productive.

Having Performance Issues

Responsible for system performance, Facility Managers struggle to deliver optimal efficiency with preventative maintenance and still balance the budget. Budget cuts and staff shortages force facility management departments to be more creative in planning and prioritizing projects. Deferring equipment service may be tempting as a short term solution but leads to greater costs in the long run. Unavoidable environmental issues like air intake obstructions and debris buildup impacts equipment’s airflow and restricts heat transfer. Forced to run for longer cycle times at reduced capacity, operating costs will escalate, breakdowns will occur and equipment life expectancy will decrease.

Cottonwood Clean-Up, Again

A dirty condenser coil reduces cooling capacity (10 ton AC system only provides 7 tons of cooling) and uses much more energy then equipment with clean coils. In areas with cottonwood trees, repeated cleaning is necessary. Delicate fins and coils require time consuming hand brushing and messy corrosive chemicals that can damage system components and the environment over time. Costly cleaning is especially problematic when there are numerous sets of fins and coils located in hard to reach places or on roof tops without water access.

Let’s look at some numbers associated with dirty coils, which will increase with the number and size of units at each location.
