A Message from the Newport Beach Mayor:
It is my pleasure to extend a warm congratulations to everyone involved in the Newport Aquatic Center’s esteemed Junior Rowing Program. On behalf of our grateful community, thank you to NAC’s dedicated athletes, coaches, families, donors, board of directors and community supporters.
Since its founding in the 1980s, NAC has given young members of our community a unique opportunity to learn and compete in the beautiful waters of Newport Beach’s Back Bay. Through the NAC, countless young people have learned teamwork, discipline, commitment and respect for our natural environment.
To the athletes: Newport Beach appreciates and respects your dedication both on and off the water. Whether you are a middleschooler discovering rowing for the first time, a high-school senior heading off to college, or competing at the national level, your passion and drive are shaping a promising future. The camaraderie of the junior rowing teams, the guidance of your coaches, the support of donors and the leadership of the board all come together to create an exceptional program.
To the NAC coaches and staff: Thank you for your unending support, mentoring and encouragement. Your work lays the foundation for each young athlete’s success in sports and in life.
To the donors and supporters: Your generosity makes it possible for NAC to offer meaningful athletic opportunities, instill confidence in young people and provide access to our waterfront. Your impact reaches far beyond the Back Bay.
