Apply Smart Strip to the paint to be removed with a putty knife, brush or brush! Smart Strip has a consistency like "glaze" and adheres well to walls and ceilings. Smart Strip is applied in a layer thickness of 3-6 mm. depending on the number of paint layers etc.

Let Smart Strip work between 3 - 24 hours (possibly overnight) depending on the number of paint layers and type of paint. The product’s special and environmentally friendly ingredients work through up to 15 layers of paint – with a guarantee.

After the exposure time, the paint is easily and effortlessly removed with a paint scraper or similar tool. If the surface is to be repainted, possibly excess paint/paint remover is washed out of cracks and pores with a moistened sponge. Add any basic cleaning.

1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND USE
Smart Strip is a revolutionary paint remover that is safe for the user, materials and the environment. The product is classified as non-hazardous to health, is pH neutral, does not contain methylene chloride, corrosive substances, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and is 100% biodegradable. This water-based paint remover is extremely effective at removing multiple layers of construction and heavy-duty industrial paint from virtually all types of interior and exterior surfaces – wood, brick, metal, concrete, stone, plaster, fiberglass, etc. Smart Strip is excellent for removing lead paint and for removing boat and marine paint without damaging the gel coat. Smart Strip is excellent for detailed, carved or molded surfaces. Smart Strip has a consistency like a paste, which makes it easy to apply with a brush, paint roller or conventional airless sprayer. Smart Strip is formulated to stay wet and effective for longer without the use of Dumond Laminated Paper. (Dumond Laminated Paper can be purchased separately if required). The exposure time will vary depending on the type of coating, the number of layers and temperature. For best results, leave the paste on overnight or longer. Remove softened/lifted paint with a scraper, trowel, squeegee or pressure washer. The cleaned surface is then cleaned with water or denatured alcohol to remove paint residues. Allow the surface to dry before repainting.
2. FEATURES AND BENEFITS

3. LIMITATIONS
For best results the surface temperature should be 15°C - 35°C. The product can be used down to 2°C, however, the effect is reduced and the exposure time is increased.
4. TEST AREA
Always prepare a test area for each surface and paint type prior to application. See separate brochure regarding test instructions. A preliminary test before starting the project is the best way to ensure the suitability of the product. This will also help

the user to find out how the product is used, the thickness of the paste to be applied and the exposure time required to complete the project.
5. PREPARATION
Cover/protect the areas not to be treated, including adjacent surfaces where splashing may occur. Polyethylene (plastic film) or Dumond Catch-N-Cover (micro-filtering membrane) creates an effective barrier. Plants and the like should be covered. NOTE: Smart Strip will not affect glass, aluminum or plastic surfaces.
6. APPLICATION & COVERAGE
When using a brush, paint roller or airless sprayer, apply a layer of around 3-6 mm (see the result on the test surface) depending on the age of the paint layer, the ambient temperature, the number of paint layers and the type of paint to be removed. Leave the product on the surface for 3-24 hours. Airless spraying is the most cost effective way to apply the product. Always start with the lowest pressure setting and slowly build pressure until an appropriate spray pattern is achieved. Smart Strip can be applied using a heavy-duty airless paint sprayer with a nozzle bore of 0,021” (0,53mm) - 0,025” (0,64mm). Be sure to remove both the gun and manifold filters from the unit before spraying as they can clog during application. When you want to build up a thicker layer of paint remover, two separate applications are recommended. First apply a thin layer and let it work for approx. 30 minutes. A new layer is then applied to build up the desired film thickness. Smart Strip provides an average coverage of 1,1 m 2 per liter at 3 mm layer thickness, the result may vary.
REMOVAL: Remove softened/lifted paint with a scraper, trowel, squeegee or pressure washer. Remove any residue using a stiff nylon brush. Pay particular attention to gaps, dents and cracks. Rinse thoroughly to remove all residue. External surfaces are thoroughly cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. Internal surfaces are cleaned with a hand sprayer/pressure sprayer, sponge with clean water or denatured alcohol to remove paint residues.
CLEANING: Collect paint remover and paint residues in plastic bags and dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Clean the airless sprayer by running water or denatured alcohol through the device immediately after application is complete. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly before repainting.

7. HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Do not ingest. Although Smart Strip is formulated to be safe for the user, the surface and the environment, applicable safety procedures should always be followed. Reference is made to the safety data sheet, which provides information on product properties and use of personal protective equipment etc.
NOTE: In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. If the irritation persists, seek medical attention. Keep out of reach of children.

Dumond Smart Strip eis a revolutionary, odorless paint remover that is safe to use both for the user, materials and the environment. This 100% biodegradable, water-based paint remover is extremely effective at removing multiple layers of building and industrial paint from virtually all interior and exterior surfaces –wood, brick, metal, concrete, stone, plaster, fiberglass, etc. Smart Strip does not contain methylene chloride, corrosive or toxic chemicals. Smart Strip is exceptional in safely removing leadbased paint and is suitable for detailed cut-outs or molded surfaces. The product is also excellent for removing ship paint. The Smart Strip paste can be easily applied with a brush, paint roller or conventional airless sprayer. It is formulated to remain wet and
effective for longer periods and does not require the use of Dumond Laminated Paper, although the use of Dumond Laminated Paper will accelerate the process and increase the exposure time. However, Dumond Laminated Paper may be needed to increase exposure time, especially in lead remediation and industrial projects. Smart Strip is a revolutionary paint remover that is safe to use both for the user, materials and the environment. It does not contain methylene chloride, is non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and non-corrosive. This water-based paint remover will effectively remove up to 15 coats of almost any coating (oil-based, water-based, acrylic, lacquer, urethane - even old lead-based paint) from any outdoor or indoor surface (wood, brick, stone, concrete, plaster, metal, plastic, glass, fiberglass, etc.). Smart Strip contains no volatile organic compounds, mild smell, user-friendly, 100% biodegradable and pH neutral.
2 EASY APPLICATION AND REMOVAL
Smart Strip is a water-based glaze-like paste that is easily applied with a brush, paint roller or conventional airless sprayer. Leave the paste on the surface for 3-24 hours depending on the number of layers and the type of coating to be removed. Smart Strip is formulated to remain wet and effective for extended periods and does not require the use of Dumond Laminated Paper. After a suitable exposure time, the softened/lifted paint is removed with a scraper, putty knife or squeegee. Any remaining paint can be removed with a damp sponge or a high-pressure cleaner. It is not necessary to neutralize the cleaned surface.

AIRLESS SPECIFICATIONS
For projects where many m2 of paint must be removed, we recommend applying Smart Strip with airless paint sprayers. This saves you a lot of time.
• Use an airless sprayer that can pump about 2.85 liters per minute or more.
• 1/4” hose will work, but a 3/8” hose will reduce the strain on the sprayer.
• Remove all filters and lower the pressure.
• 0.021” (0.53mm) - 0.025” (0.64mm) nozzle bore is recommended.
• Keep a bucket of clean water ready as it may be necessary to flush the pump regularly on hot days to avoid overloading and consequent inability to build pressure.
• Apply Smart Strip from the bottom up in a layer thickness of approx. 3-6 mm. (coverage should be 1.1 m2/litre v. 3 mm. layer thickness).
• Leave the product on the surface for 6-24 hours (make a test surface to determine the required exposure time).
• When used on hot days and/or in direct sunlight, the product may begin to dry up before removal. Then apply another layer about 45 minutes before removing the product to soften the original layer.
• Remove the layer and finish with a thorough washing, possibly pressure washer, of the surface from top to bottom.
• Do not leave the Smart Strip in the syringe overnight. Rinse the syringe and hose thoroughly every day and finish with warm water.
