A promessa é apenas uma: aqui o mundo é como deve(ria) ser! A mais de 2 000 metros acima do nível do mar, o Zallinger Hotel permite-nos estar suficientemente elevados para esquecermos a agitação do quotidiano e apreciarmos a beleza calma, silenciosa e natural do Alpe di Siusi, região da província autónoma de Bolzano (ou Tirol do Sul).

Os cumes brancos servem de refúgio à tradicional cabana Zallinger – construída em meados do séc. XIX – que alberga 12 quartos, lobby, lounge e restaurante.

Remodelados em 2017, os espaços públicos deste alojamento histórico são assinados pelo gabinete italiano noa* (network of architecture). Desta conversão, destaque para o enorme tronco de abeto que foi reaproveitado no balcão do lounge, e para a madeira que envolve as paredes. Com efeito, sentimo-nos numa sala alpina clássica onde a família se reúne em redor da lareira. E na adega do hotel, as prateleiras de madeira em ângulo, com compartimentos individuais para as garrafas, fazem lembrar as montanhas que vemos lá fora…

There is just one promise: here the world is what it should be like! Located at over 2,000 metres above sea level, the Zallinger Hotel is high enough for us to forget about the bustle of daily life and to appreciate the calm, natural and silent beauty of Alpe di Siusi, a region of the autonomous province of Bolzano (or South Tyrol).

The white peaks offer the setting for the traditional Zallinger refuge – built in the middle of the 19th Century – which houses 12 bedrooms, a lobby, lounge and restaurant.

Remodelled in 2017, the public areas in this historic guesthouse are signed by the Italian studio noa* (network of architecture). Highlights of this conversion include an enormous spruce trunk which has been used as the counter top in the lounge and the use of wood to cover the walls. In fact, it feels like the classic alpine living room where the family sits around the fireplace. And in the hotel’s wine cellar, the angular wooden shelves, with individual compartments for each bottle, evoke the mountains we see outside…

Mas os arquitectos noa* também ampliaram a capacidade de alojamento do Zallinger. Inspirando-se nos antigos celeiros que outrora existiram na propriedade, criaram pequenos chalés que acomodam 24 novos quartos. Feitos de painéis de madeira maciça, quando abertos, são ideais para apreciar as espectaculares paisagens alpinas, e, quando fechados, criam pequenas evocações de luz e sombra nos quartos, contribuindo para o relaxamento dos hóspedes do hotel.

No seu interior, a madeira confere um ambiente aconchegante e alguns dos quartos têm mesmo escadas que conduzem a um pequeno loft, perfeito para as crianças poderem dormir, ou para ser usado, simplesmente, como um relaxante refúgio. A But the noa* architects also expanded the guest accommodation capacity at Zallinger. Inspired by the barns of the past that could once be found on the property, they created small chalets that accommodate a further 24 bedrooms.

Made from solid timber panels, when they are open, they provide the perfect vantage point from which to view the spectacular alpine landscapes and, when closed, they create small effects of light and shade that are conducive to the relaxation of the hotel guests.

Indoors, the wood creates a cosy ambience and some of the bedrooms even have stairs that lead to a small loft, the perfect place for children to sleep or which can be simply used as a relaxing retreat. A
